Not a single thread on Blake Baker

Nothing is funnier than guys quoting 2018 national season stats as some type of reference point for our performance Saturday.

Not saying we will not see a better offense regular season but will doubt we see a more ballyhooed offense. After all was not their QB a Heisman
candidate.

Thought he called a great game. He might even be better than Manny at calling the game. Team looked prepared. The big plays given up were related to technique and execution not scheme.

This dude had Mullins so scared that dude was going for it on fourth down just about ever Chance he got.

The Tony touchdown sucked cuz we were in position to make a play and get him to the ground and we didn't. That's a tackling problem on the 5th play of the season play. The deep ball looked like a late coverage by Carter and Frierson had a bad matchup. Overall, I'm not concerned

This is the reason the Toney TD worked. Our best tackler got held.

Total Yards: 306
Yards Per Play: 5.6
Yards Per Carry: 1.8

- If an offense averaged 306 yards a game last year, they would’ve ranked 106th.

- 5.6 yards per play, would’ve ranked around 76th.

- And a 1.8 ypc average would’ve placed you dead last in the country.

Called a pretty nice game overall. Would like to improve on tackling. Looked way too timid and soft in some spots. Want Hill and Rousseau on the field more to pressure the QB. Need to tighten up on blowing assignments.

yeah my only defensive criticism were the tackles not wrecking havoc as much as we are use to seeing, and I think we all agree we want more Hill and Rousseau. other than that Baker called a great game, the mistakes were executing and not playcalling.

The defense will get better as the safeties get more comfortable. Manny's defense puts a lot of stress on the safeties, which is why they are always leading the team in tackles. The more they grow, the better the defense will look. We have to get people to the ground no questions

So what? Like what point are you trying to make? It’s his defense.
The point is he called a good game. The Toney chunk play wasn't due to a bad call, but player error. He put his guys in a position to make the play. If a player misses a play one week, you don't blame the coach (yet), especially in week one. If it continues, then you have a potential coaching problem.

That being said, for now, I'm happy with what we got from Blake

I said he called a good game. Nobody said differently. What the **** are you whining about

Yea, Blake was the tallest midget. We missed too many tackles for my liking. Didn't like the usage of Hill and Rousseau either.

These are now grown men that have been tackling and learning the game of football since they were in grade school.

When there is a missed tackle problem...its a player problem, not a coaching one at this level. You either have the skill and dog in you to tackle Kadarius Toney or you don't. Its not like players were not in position to make that play.

He was almost identical to Diaz's D which is probably why people aren't bringing him up. Many would assume he is just using the old playbook and philosophy.
