Tears Nole Tears (“Offcial”)

Well, he said “pics or it didn’t happen,” so I figured he wanted a picture of the object I used!

I certainly don’t have any pictures of me using it, and I thought the Coppertone baby picture might be a tad inappropriate.

My old view of southbound I-95 when I first enrolled at UM in the 1980s...there was a high-rise building to the west side of the road that had a huge mural of the adult Coppertone girl. as O seem to recall.

Then I believe this one with the Coppertone baby was on...LeJeune?

I might need @SpikeUM to refresh my memory on these old Miami landmarks...

You're asking too much. I'll be fine if NC State slaps 40 on them and CJ Bailey is the ACC Offensive Player of the Week.

IMO, there isn't a coach available who would take the FSU job that is better than Norvell. So let them spend 50M on his buyout, several more on buying out his coaching staff, several more on buying out the next guy's contract and committing to another 10 year / 100M contract for that mediocre take. Then let them somehow fund a 25M+ NIL roster while they rebuild. It's going to break them.
This here! We really are in a win-win regarding the Nolies and the rest of the season, but I think you're right.

And, on. a related note, the VT administration needs to be given an A+++ and GOLD STAR for nabbing Franklin. If VT spends the money like they said they would, I would argue that VT is a better spot for Franklin than PSU. I know we hate the ACC, but the reality is that we are in it for the foreseeable future, and since we're good with FSU being down for a while longer and Dabo hasn't figured out what the "Transfer Portal" means, the rise of VT is OK with me. We need at least two playoff worthy teams each year.

For both you guys, search Dr. David Attia from 60 minutes a few weeks ago. A little over the top but his discussion of healthy aging is worth listening to. Matches what my PCP has said, 75-85 is the marginal decade and preparing for it is the best thing you can do. I'.m more than half way through it and so far so good but in my case its by chance. In your cases you can be proactive.

I will definitely check it out, thanks!

But, in my case, I probably won’t make it there, which is exactly why I have the perspective I do. I had an amazing marriage, successful career I loved, good health, great life, and then complications from having my son changed my life. I was granted full disability and Medicare at 40 for the rest of my life and my “job” is my medical care. But I guess that’s the risk for having a “geriatric” pregnancy.

Dammit Noles, see what happens when y’all suck? Now your Tears thread has turned into our own dumb stories. Get your **** together.

I dont know if I should be honored or insulted to be asked about events that happened a half century ago, but the Coppertone girl was on Biscayne just north of downtown.

My entire world off the boards is in this area. All I do during my days is discuss health and fitness and aging and Canes football

If he’s not talking about lifting weights then it’s not for me. The single best “healthy aging” thing a human being can do is resistance training

I would go further and say if you’re gonna be a Miami fan then the importance of exercise as a way to mitigate stress becomes even more important

If I only had a dollar for every time a fellow CIS poster spanked their monkey to this image on building.

Edit: j/k

Good to know! I'm 52 and have been in the gym 5 days a week since I was 43
Amazing!

I mean it can all be a crapshoot at the end of the day and plenty of people will argue that other things are “best” (I’m kind of known for saying “there’s no best” when I get questions like that)

Ultimately “the best” is what you can stick to long term that creates healthy habits, but resistance training should be at the top of everyone’s (especially women) list when it comes to aging in my not so humble opinion anyway

The studies are incredible. Even like obese powerlifters often have perfect bloodwork when it comes to certain health markers

Though I will also say certain bloodwork markers like cholesterol and kidney function are being updated as well

Anyway, could talk about this all day (and I do haha) it’s fascinating stuff to me

What is your take on Kettlebell training? I've been doing total body work three times a week since my stroke in 2023 and it's helped me greatly, I think. But looking to do kettlebell work at home on my "off days". Nothing fancy but swings, lunges, clean and snatches. Also started playing with some resistance bands. I found those useful during post-stroke PT.

Wasn't there also a painted mural on a building at around 79th Street? Where southbound I-95 curves towards the left. It was about 20 stories high, as I recall.
