Totally agree agree with you. Been lifting 3 to 4 days a week since I was 17 and I'm about to turn 59. I'm a former national level competitive bodybuilder so I beat the crap out of my body during my 20s and 30s. Had to have shoulder and back surgery so I'm a little limited now and don't want to do more damage so I'm just trying to hold on to the muscle I have and stay fit. Cheers fellow liftersAmazing!
I mean it can all be a crapshoot at the end of the day and plenty of people will argue that other things are “best” (I’m kind of known for saying “there’s no best” when I get questions like that)
Ultimately “the best” is what you can stick to long term that creates healthy habits, but resistance training should be at the top of everyone’s (especially women) list when it comes to aging in my not so humble opinion anyway
The studies are incredible. Even like obese powerlifters often have perfect bloodwork when it comes to certain health markers
Though I will also say certain bloodwork markers like cholesterol and kidney function are being updated as well
Anyway, could talk about this all day (and I do haha) it’s fascinating stuff to me
