Somebody put this guy on timeout please

I just want them to retain Norvell that’s it. They didn’t need us in 2013 to win a natty
Exactly. Same with UF in 2008. They even lost a game that year. They didn’t need us to be good. You think FSU and UF are rooting for us to be successful so they will look better if they beat us? **** no they aren’t. They were loving the Shannon, Golden, and Diaz eras. They wouldn’t care if our program fell off the face of the earth.

Terrible take, you’re supposed to root for your rivals. So, when you beat them, you get credit for it. If FSU & Florida were both 9-3 and ranked, Miami makes the playoff in 2024.

Don’t root against either unless they’re playing us. Arrived on campus the season after the Gator Flop. Sincerely hate those donkeys. But, they play who they play. Am I happy if they lose , Yes. Same with FSU. Do I think they’re a bunch of loser D-Bags definitely. But, ultimately it’s about us, what we do. We determine our success. Beat their As**ss we good. But we have bigger fish to fry, like every mfer on our schedule. It’s the generational rage against our two intimate foes that fuels us, motivates us to succeed and be great. Boys we are on that precipice of this season. Let’s F**k some S**t up🙌🏽
I do root against them. Not only because I hate both programs and their fan bases, but also because their failures ultimately help us.

I do understand what you are saying that we determine our own success. I agree with that, but FSU’s and UF’s lack of success can help us in the recruiting and portal battles. Winning those battles should in theory make us better, as we are technically getting the better, more talented players.

Our main goal is to worry about our team and focus on our own success, but I can still root against our rivals in the process. I think that’s part of the college football experience.

Can’t tell if you are being serious or not, but I will never root for our rivals. My hatred for FSU and UF is at an all time high. Maybe social media has played a part in that. Like the other poster that responded earlier, I hope they go winless.

I don’t root for either team when they play each other. There is an always a little joy that one team will have another loss, but it’s at the expense that one of those teams has to win.
THE ONLY ANSWER.

I only root for them if it’s advantageous to Miami. Otherwise I want winless seasons. California earns a special amount of scorn for giving them a victory last year.

They got better at QB with Castellanos, but the QB room overall blows. RB is average, nothing special. WR is a dumpster fire. Their WRs going into last year was the reason I kept saying they’d suck. That TE they have is going to be a good one. OL blows. Castellanos will be running for his life half the time.

Defense will be scrappy, but you gotta be able to score. All in all I think they’re a 4-8/5-7 team. Norvell gets ****canned mid season 26’, since they can’t afford to buy him out + staff and go for a big name coach.

As a program, it just feels like they have zero momentum at the moment.
…and they have to start the season against Baga. The Tide should be a heavy favorite in that one.

It’s so weird that we hyper focus on one or two coaches. Like college football isn’t full of guys who are capable of winning if given the resources.

Let’s look at the CFP coaches last year

Lanning- Georgia DC
Smart- Alabama DC
Danielson- promoted from within
Sarkisian- Alabama OC
Dillingham - Oregon OC
Franklin - Vanderbilt HC
Swinney - promoted from within
Freeman - promoted from within
Day - promoted from within
Heupel - UCF HC
Cignetti - JMU HC
Lashlee - Miami OC

I personally like the idea of hiring a successful coordinator from a big time program because they’re used to big boy recruiting. Obviously promoting from within is only a good move if the prior head coach was successful. And hiring an up and comer from a smaller school is always a gamble.

Let’s hope FSU promotes from within when they finally dump Norvell.
You left Elko off of that list. Dude is an excellent HC.
