Tears Nole Tears (“Offcial”)

They struggled to hire during their last search and eventually settled on Norvell. I’d be curious how much enthusiasm there would be from boosters after the last few disasters which cost them big $.

Outside of Sanders, who could they really rally behind that’s realistic?
Sanders is going to have a tough year. I doubt they go after him and his circus.

They got better at QB with Castellanos, but the QB room overall blows. RB is average, nothing special. WR is a dumpster fire. Their WRs going into last year was the reason I kept saying they’d suck. That TE they have is going to be a good one. OL blows. Castellanos will be running for his life half the time.

Defense will be scrappy, but you gotta be able to score. All in all I think they’re a 4-8/5-7 team. Norvell gets ****canned mid season 26’, since they can’t afford to buy him out + staff and go for a big name coach.

As a program, it just feels like they have zero momentum at the moment.
Got better at QB after following DJU isn’t glowing remarks. There was no possible way they could’ve gotten worse. Their roster is void of talent and depth at multiple positions including the trenches. The skill positions WR, RB, and TE’s are all jags…. These along with OL are the positions needing to be Good for Castellanos to be effective. They’re in trouble big time!

Their board gave up on football.

If they spend money, they can hire almost anyone they want. But they’re going to have to overpay. They’re going to have to pay the suck tax for a coach and for players. This is still a program with 3 national titles in semi-recent history though. If they spend it can still be a good job. It’s just that ever since they won with Jimbo. They’ve gone cheap. They allowed another college to hire their championship winning coach out from under them. Regardless of how you feel about Jimbo as a coach, that’s still a bad look.
So they’ve become us under Shalala. Although as mediocre as we were, we never had 3-6 and 2-10 years (they’ve had both in the last five years). 5-7 was our worst, and pretty sure UF hasn’t dipped below 4-7 recently.

But they got spoiled and decided that they deserved better than Jimbo. They saw the downward trajectory, and didn’t attribute it to any external factors, but simply chalked it up to Jimbo’s deficiencies. Now after back-to-back misses, they are in the same place we were right before we hired Richt. Not sure they realize it though. Nor am I sure they have the money.

FSU’s entire offense was smelly hot garbage last year. Probably the worst I’ve ever seen since I’ve been following Big 3 football for the last 30+ years.

But for as bad as it was across all levels, the OL was really the undoing. They couldn’t block ANYONE. I remember watching that BC game and thinking they were so cooked because they were getting smoked at the LOS. It’s such a reason I wanted Mario here because the floor of your team is usually very high if you have a good OL and so low if it’s ******. But back to them, who is playing OL for them this year? If they are even close to as bad as they were last year, they’ll be lucky to make a bowl game.
Believe their OL might actually be worse this year.

Maybe. I don’t know if it’s as simple as opening the checkbook anymore. I’m not trying to turn this into a Mario vs Lane debate, but realistically other than those two who would we have had a realistic chance with? Maybe they can poach Lane, but I don’t see any other sitting HC with name recognition.

I don’t see kiffen leaving a team who has good nil money to coach in that dumpster fire broke fsu

Why would Lane leave to go to FSU? I think if Lane were to leave Ole Miss, it would be to go to someplace like Bama, UGA, or UF. I just don’t see him at FSU in the middle of a rebuild, when he’s in a decent position right now.

Terrible take, you’re supposed to root for your rivals. So, when you beat them, you get credit for it. If FSU & Florida were both 9-3 and ranked, Miami makes the playoff in 2024.
You might have better luck selling that bull**** at Warchant. Those dumbasses still believe in Norvell, so maybe you'll be able to convince them to root for Miami.

Worst take ever. The only time fsu has won national championships is when UM has been on probation, whether with the NCAA or self imposed with morons like Shalalalalalala in charge. Them being down and out takes away a legit recruiting threat to UM. I hope they go 0-12 every year. I'll pull for UNC or Pitt to do well. Not them
