Tears Nole Tears (“Offcial”)

The inexplicable thing is that Norvell has been at FSU twice as long as Mario has been at Miami, and yet he has virtually no developed quarterback room.

He has no blue chip quarterbacks on his roster. The two high school blue chip players that he recruited in the last four years are already gone.
The thing that struck me about this is them comparing their success to Oregon and Miami. And trying to say they are just as successful so it will have to translate on the field. Yet, they don’t mention that both Oregon and Miami are supplementing needs with the transfer portal. Ward, Gabriel. Yet, also, both Oregon and Miami have also been recruiting high school at a very high level, so we have homegrown talent as well.

in the trenches why fsu is trying to build a entire starting ol in the portal . Wait until Jackson leaves it will get worse

So that means, outside of the guys they JUST SIGNED from the Portal, here's who is left from their "trailing three years" of Portal signings:

Caziah Holmes - 2022
Justin Cryer - 2023
Darrell Jackson - 2023
Jacob Rizy - 2024
Richie Leonard IV - 2024
Roydell Williams - 2024
Jaylin Lucas - 2024
Earl Little Jr. - 2024

And let's not forget, those 2024 transfers were the backbone of the 2-10 team.

HILARIOUS.

These might be two of the dumbest mother****ers I've ever heard wax poetic about the SemenHoles.

Outside of their MONOTONOUS insistence that 2024 was an "anomaly", and that they would "regress [or progress] back to the mean", they have overlooked something crucial.

By doing a "trailing three-year assessment" of Portal rankings, they have ignored the fact that all the good Portal players that Prison Mike lined up for 2023...ARE LONG GONE...and this "amazing" Portal class from 2024...got them a 2-10 record...

I don't know how to say this any other way, but the "early adopter" advantage that Prison Mike had in the Transfer Portal a couple of years ago is long, long gone.

And as for this "but our recruiting didn't drop off"...YES IT DID. The 2025 recruiting class that F$U signed was...Top 20...right? RIGHT?

Sure, it was the #19 overall class. BUT THEY HAD THE #6 PORTAL RANK. Meaning, if you factor out the transfers, the "high school recruiting" was not at all "Top 20".

What in the ACTUAL ****? In a year when the roster size jumped from 85 to 105, they signed 23 high school kids. ONLY SIX were 247 4-stars, the rest were 3-stars.

F$U fans are in terrible shape. They are now arguing that they are going to win "10 or 11 games" based on Portal recruiting from 3 years ago.

Pathetic.
You tried telling them in the comments section ;)

If the Noles are going to regress to the mean, then according to their record, that indicates that they will resume having losing seasons.

Their records since Jimbo left are below. Note that 2022/23 were there two seasons with Jordan Travis, and as others have mentioned, Norvell’s QB recruitment leaves much to be desired. We’ve also discussed ad nauseam how the fan base themselves admits their talent level is dropping, and the team is full of cast-offs and guys that should be at mid-majors. So they can continue to cherry-pick numbers all they want to make themselves feel better, but their records data shows that 2023 was the anomaly.

2018: 5-7
2019: 6-7
2020: 3-6
2021: 5-7
2022: 10-3
2023: 13-1
2024: 2-10

*Jimbo’s last season in 2017 was also only 7-6. Although not quite a losing season, I wonder if they regret chasing him off now?

Good work. The list of remaining players from the ‘22-‘24 portal classes and majority of ‘25 portal class are JAG’s.

Looks like they did upgrade the o-line significantly, anything was an improvement from last year, but they got no weapons on offense. The tight end, Pittman, is pretty good, but I don’t see any threats at WR or RB. Their defensive haul very unimpressive. They might have a few from that list step up this year, but I’m just not seeing any game changers from that list. A lot of those guys may not even see the field.

Absolutely true.

Also, think about this. Only TWO YEARS AGO, they had the #6 Portal class with 12 players. For 2025, they had the #6 Portal class with 23 players. That is DOUBLE the number of Portal players to earn the exact same ranking. That 2025 ranking is CLEARLY about quantity over quality.

This is what FSU's quarterback room could have looked like had they been able to keep their own high school recruits:

QUARTERBACKRANKINGSIGNINGYR EXP
AJ Duffy0.930620223
Luke Kromenhoek0.930020241
Kevin Sperry0.893920250
Brock Glenn0.887820232
Trever Jackson0.850020241
Dylan McNamara0.760020223

I'm guessing Dylan would have transferred out still - most schools not named Ole Miss don't keep more than five quarterbacks at maximum on their roster.

The most telling is that most of them got on campus, spent a season and then bolted.

On paper their 2025 roster is better at:

Tight End (.8911 average rating vs .8884)
Running Back (.9215 average rating vs .9146)
Defensive Tackle (.9018 average rating vs .8852)
Defensive End (.9031 average rating vs .9028)
Special Teams (.8236 average rating vs .8058)
