Nobody feels sorry for us

Bowen and McKinney are huge losses. Brewru is questionable with a knee. If he plays and that is doubtful he goes maybe a aeries. If he is on the field I go right at him. Same with Onye. They are really hurting up the middle.

Everyone needs to put their big boy pants on and that’s not just players , that goes for fans too. Everyone in America is dealing with injuries but most fans don’t pay attention to other programs to notice. Florida has been without their best wr most of the year. Ohio State lost their qb . Texas injury list has enough NIL cash on it to buy new BBL’s and ***** for the entire Kardashian and Jenner families, Caitlyn included. Then there’s the team we’re playing who has 4-5 guys possibly out this week and some for season.

There’s no replacing Mali but in a weird way maybe this takes pressure off the team and galvanizes guys. I’ve seen things like this workout in the short term. Us against the world type motivation.

The defense has already been getting trashed by fans and media (rightfully so). On top of that most had us already losing this game. Now we really have no shot and we lost our entire team with Toney injury. If this culture and team is what we think it is they should be chopping at the bit to step up and prove folks wrong. It’s called house money.

It’s game nine so guys like Spafford and Wingo are no longer Freshmen . It’s your time and this is why you come to a program like Miami.

Yes ,odds are stacked against the team but as I said I’ve seen weird things happen to a team facing adversity. On top of that nobody gives a **** or feels pity for Miami. Just like we didn’t for FSU when they lost Jordan Travis. Injuries are part of the game. Now shoot to survive until Mali comes back.
As I said in the other thread, would we rather be in OSU position with their star WR still out there with no one to throw him the ball?

We still have Mensah we still have playmakers. Toney will be back by ACC championship game hopefully.

We have to play the games I still like our chances to make the playoffs

Cristobal took a wounded Oregon defense missing his very best player with a struggling offense and got the dub in the shoe in a game nobody had him winning. Line in that game was 14.5. Can he do it again?

Disclaimer: it was second game of the season so not much film to breakdown

Oregon's Mario Cristobal calls upset of Ohio State 'testament to the process'

We still have the best player on the field. We have a 1k acc receiver and another guy who led his team in yards last year in the acc. We have enough, I still expect us to win the game which is why I’m salivating at the ML and # going up. Lofton has shown me enough to think he can have a break out game. I really hope we bring out the fake bubble look to a lofton up the seam or a Jacobs up the sideline. The defense has been getting **** talked all week. I trust our RBs. By all accounts Mario has a level of intensity this week knowing who we are lining up against. The team will rally and is battle tested already. 35-21 canes.

Problem is we don’t have the same OL for that. But we have a better QB.
Don’t totally disagree. But Run game has been good. Pass pro not as much imo. These guys are missing their best run stoppers. They couldn’t stop byu on the group without their best rb.
This was my exact thoughts.

They are banged up on the iDL. We have big, bruising RBs.

You are a 7 point road dog. Run the ball, shorten the game, make the plays when you have to.

As cribby said in the OP, everyone is banged up. No excuses. We have enough dudes to beat ND. So go beat ND.

This is football, injuries happen, hate it for Toney, but this thread (sorry OP and posters) is some sissy ****. Everyone knows how valuable he is, but ****, come on.

Look all I'm saying is this news is 10 minutes old and the rah rah stuff has its time and place. If people want to go to sleep angry or even saddened they should have that right all things considered.

That said, as unfortunate as it is, we should be excited to see how the team responds. Could be the ultimate wake up call. And if they went live and tackled to the ground it was because Mario wanted to prove a point and he may have stumbled into the one thing that gets this group's attention because they were somewhat lethargic in Chapel Hill. They can't get sky high for every game but the lack of physicality was alarming, most especially to Mario who hangs his hat on it.

This is 2023 Clemson again when we played without TVD. Dawson and Mario killed it.
It should not be that at all. Mensah threw for 40 TDs last season, and there are other capable players in the passing game. We shouldn't need to call the same two plays all night and try to fall backwards into winning. Keep these coming though it's entertaining.

Upshaw had really been with Toney all off season working on his craft. This game we need him to make the routine plays which he is capable of. Put up or shut up. If we get into a groove early and gain confidence I think our WRs shine all game. A good run game helps the passing game and vice versa. We got players and all the wrs have shown flashes. We just need them to have more juice and not get too emotional. 34-17 Canes

They are gonna dedicate everything to stopping our running game early. We must pass first to set up the run, and when their Safeties are told to move back, it’s over.

Get Pringle involved in the pass game, maybe even a screen, wheel route or that reverse play that Mali gets once a game.

I think the TEs have a huge impact. Lofton, Mueller and Briggs will have catches on wrinkles. I think Mueller or Briggs scores.

Our CBs are big game battle tested from last season’s title run. Lucas must watch the double move and EOC must watch that back shoulder fade that Becker got him on.

I expect the DLine room to show up big. Specifically Damon Wilson and Justin Scott. I expect ND to double and chip Lightfoot and Moten a lot. They are gonna take a chance and bank on being able to block Wilson 1:1. Scott played big at the end of the UNC game, the light came on.

Get Mensah in a rhythm, and if he takes off and runs at least 3 times in the 2nd half, ND won’t have an answer to that many threats/weapons.

All I know is this team **** the bed when Toney's injury occurred against Wake Forest. Who can blame any fan for thinking disaster now that he's out a while? I remember the gameday thread and the entire board was melting at how bad the offense was playing.

Maybe the team will pull together and get it done. I'm just saying the only time we saw this team try to operate without him in 2026, it was ugly as ****.
That was a month and change ago. Not saying you are wrong to worry and evidence is evidence. But you’d hope the team has improved and settled in since then.
