No mention of Ryan Mayes

Lol what are you expecting out of him? Wasn't a highly touted person coming in. Will only see significant time if T3, Corn or Artie get hurt.
 
Ryan Mayes logged mins last season for us he cant be that bad....

If he gets a rs...not sure how..dude played late in the season...i was actuallu mad that he did cuz i wanted him to shirt

LHope just wasn't good. He did himself a disservice by coming here and Al should have never given him an offer. Saban couldn't have turned that guy into an average player.

The light never came on for Dortch. He had the natural DB skills except for elite speed. We all just liked him because Butch offered him while he was at UNC.

As for RMayes, he had one of those "Once he goes to a big time program he will blow up" reps out of HS when he transferred from Dr.Krop to MNW. Well....He didn't blow up. I wasn't a fan of the take. He looks the part but just didn't really make any plays while at MNW. Worse comes to worse, he can be a safety here I guess.

The attrition on this team under Golden is astounding. I thought Dortch looked decent in the Spring last year.
 
I was not a big Mayes fan but he is covering well this spring. Hope he carries the momentum into the scrimmage.
 
Al Golden hesitantly discusses Ryan Mayes at the 7:40 mark in the video from today. Al Golden says he is not going to talk about Ryan Mayes because Mayes knows what he has to do an Ryan has a long way to go!

Thing is he wasnt really a NW kid.....He aint from the CITY...he was a dr. krop kid......and Uncle Luke and other coaches at MNW basically called him "soft" when he transferred in their for his sr year.

He had the measurables...and he went to Al Golden's camp and i guess looked good witht he pads off....Same camp Quincy Wilson was at.....I think Mayes might end up being a solid cb...but he basically took Wilson's offer...and was nowhere near the level opf player as Quincy Wilson. Which in turn bit us in the *** as we lost out on some kids, and Wilson looked like a solid cb for UF.

How ya boi out at UCLA DOING....i got a game and he looked okay....you can sell these guys on definate talent but who knows with our defensive evals...EVERY year we offer duds from Golden's camp only to slow play them at the end and show them the door.

Quincy did not go to the golden camp before senior year. He was done with Miami at that point.


I hated the Mayes take especially since we passed up on nice DBs down here like Dowels, Battle, and Wilson
 
For a true freshmen, Quincy looked **** good the few times I saw him play at UF. At worst, he would have been our dime back this year. And a starter next year. Smh.

Al better hope Mayes turns out servicable. His eval rep would take a big hit on this one because it cost us Scarlett too.
