No John Lilly

What happened to "I've gotten 250 texts from people wanting jobs...." or whatever it is I heard him tell DBJ on the radio??? I guess they're not texts from anyone that was on his staff at UGA.

It's safe to assume that those guys were first in line with Richt. It's intriguing now because Richt will really have to evaluate assistant coaches out there who he's never worked with. Now that the "first in liners" are out the way, I'm gonna trust his instincts and see who he brings in.

Considering the Hartley guy has been mentioned as a possible TE coach, in addition to ST, seems to indicate Richt may have already know Lilly wasn't coming.

If Richt keeps Coley (I know it ain't popular) as the QB Coach and Co-Oc with Brown, Coley could also work with the TEs ... Since Richt will be doing QB work, as well.

I think the breakdown went something like:

100 from Kehoe
50 from Beard
50 from Coley
50 from Scott

No...no......no

You "know", or you "think"?

Looks like most of the offensive side will be same coaches we have this year in my opinion only richt will hopefully be calling plays. Let's just hope he can get some people on the defensive side

What basis do you even have for that? Just throwing **** up against a wall right now.
Yup I am. But as I said in my opinion which means my opinion not what I have heard

Exactly. We're just going to need to find some guys who aren't hicks.

There is only one thing that concerns me. Richt likely wants to surround himself with clean, faith and family-oriented guys. Those types are not always a natural fit in Miami.

Personally, I want guys like Ed Orgeron. All he cared about was recruiting, watching film, living on Brickell Key, chasing women and generally going harder than a Russian.

DMoney, it's nice to finally be on the same page as you. It's why I was not into the whole "Bring the UGA staff here" vibe. Richt can do better, and it starts with hiring savages.

Shouldda hired Butch.

This^^^^^

Butch would've brought a monster staff in. He had all that time to make offers to other coaches and to bring them in.

People starting to get nervous. I'm laughing at all of the @$$holes that trashed Butch.

In life you get what you wish for. I think we're about to find that out.

By the way, all of you slurpers that are gonna bash me can blow me. The truth hurts.

By the way, this sucks for all of us if. Richt is supposed to be a very well respected and connected HC. If he can't even bring in a good coaching staff it's a huge warning flag. Not the way any one of us expected his tenure to begin. Most of the big time coaches have already been scooped up.

So now people are talking about Coley as if he has a chance to be brought back as a fallback option. And the BBB crew is already taking potshots and talking about how we should've hired the guy who will never get another Power 5 head-coaching job again.

For f**** sake...

At times like these you know who are fans of a team and who are fans of a coach. I was okay if Butch got the gig, but Richt was the far better choice given resume.

The ones that are so adamantly for Butch that they'll go and trash Richt for every little thing that doesn't go his way makes you no better than a Golden slurper. Should've hired Butch....man stfu. I didn't see other programs beating down this man's door like they were doing Richt's when he got let go from UGA.

I would only be concerned if we were getting outbid.

If we have the money, there are plenty of qualified coaches who would love to take it.

D$, are you concerned at all that it seems like Richt just wants to bring along his UGA staff? Guys that were obviously a good fit at Georiga, but maybe not a good fit for Miami.

I'm a little concerned because this was the first thing Golden did (hired his Temple staff) and I think it was and could be the first sign of not adjusting to what works for Miami, instead just going with what your comfortable with and used to as a Head Coach.

ya'll know richt was fired right?

i'm one of his biggest supporters on here. But if he was fired maybe we shouldn't be hoping and praying for his position coaches, the bmac's and john lilly's of the world to come down to coral gables too

golden was fired and most of us can agree these position coaches need to go.

You'll get bashed for the first part. It is concerning that a number of good coaches in the college ranks have been scooped up but many of those are from failed regimes. I think we still have to wait until after the bowls are played by the teams with stability in their head coaching to know what we're dealing with.
