NO HERMAN, NO FUENTES

Al sucked, but

Urban Meyer, Head Coach Bowling Green (MAC)
Nick Saban, Head Coach Toledo (MAC)
John Harbaugh, Running Backs Coach Western Michigan (MAC)

just sayin

Nick Satan coached the Dolphins
Harbaugh coached the 49ers

I'll take either coach, especially if UM wants to go young...

Michigan and Alabama hired coaches from the NFL.

Today, these coaches are two of the top 3 in college football.

lol ok

Facts.

Lol AAC has as many or more ranked teams than the ACC.

They had 4 including Memphis, I would imagine they fall out. That was as much as the SEC. AAC football is as good as ACC this year and you can't deny it.

There probably should be an IQ test before someone is allowed to post - ignorance kills.

Chit I'll take anyone of them after tonight!!!

Why, because you watched one garbage team beat up on another craphole?

Think bigger

Both of those teams would throttle unc, who just throttled Miami. Junior!

Who has Houston played?

Ive never really understood that argument. Is Houston's talent really that much superior compared to the teams they are beating? That was also the argument used to attempt to discredit Gus Malzahn when he was tilting the scoreboard as the OC at Tulsa. People said "look at the defenses he's doing it against!' Malzahn also coached at Arkansas St. I wonder who they player. So you are basically stating that its inpossible for a non power 5 coach to be good. However, such an arbitrary position cannot withstand the rigors of logic. Also just because Golden was a ****, that by no means makes it a foregone conclusion that all other non power 5 coaches will be garbage. Urban Myer started out in the MAC. Jim Harbaugh was coaching at San Diego before Stanford hired him. University of San Diego not San Diego St. I wonder who San Diego played? Chip Kelly coached at New Hampshire early in his career. Bobby Bowden coached at Samford. There have been many great coaches who started at smaller non power 5 programs and there will be many more.

Personally I believe that good/great coaches are going to stand out no matter where they are coaching. The key is being able to identify them. As far as Golden is concerned, there were plenty of red flags all over the place that most of us just disregarded because after Coker and Shannon we were desperate for success. I happen to think that Herman will be an elite coach at the highest level. When you take Herman and Golden and juxtapose their respective career arcs, there is a significant difference. That being said, there is never a sure thing but you can't just summarily dismiss coaches like Herman and Fuente just because they are not currently coaching at elite FBS programs.

The problem is using just one year of experience as a head coach to justify hiring someone to lead what is a pressure cooker in Miami.

By the way, Malzahn is being exposed right now. He had a great first year at Auburn, but went 8-5 las year and has had a terrible year this season.

Auburn hired him with only one year as a HC under his belt.

I just don't think one year is enough body of work to hire someone to lead my Canes.

I think Butch is a great hire, but I wouldn't be mad if we got Gundy, Patterson, or someone else at that level.

I really think we should be hiring someone from another Power 5 conference.

So dumb. Herman is a national championship winning OC that's 10-0 in his first year as a head coach. Houston was a five loss team last year and have been completely turned around. Who has he beaten? A Cincy team that dominated us, Louisville who we haven't beaten in years, and Memphis who controlled Ole Miss. If you can't spot a good coach in Herman, then you probably watch a less complex sport.

Hahha that schedule is WEAK

Little league.

Get outta my face

We should mention, Golden never won more than 9 games at Temple...Herman is undefeated and Fuente already had a 10 win season last year...Big difference, especially since they have elite offenses where Golden never had an elite unit at Temple. No comparison between Golden and the better 2, only thing Golden had going for him is that he took Temple from a terrible program to an average program and he was young. Both Houston and Memphis would rape Goldie's temple teams.

Brady Hoke won 12 games at San Diego State. To me, that's great, but I want to see success (not necessarily 12-1) at a Power 5 conference.

If not that, then give me an Urban Meyer who had had success in the MAC and then MWC, including a BCS bowl at Utah.

Sorry, but one season in the AAC is not enough evidence.

BOOM! You do not give a guy with a total of 10 games as a HC at non power 5 school the keys to a 5 time National Championship program, especially when this particular hire could sink the program for good.
Give me someone who despite some flaws (every coach has some) has proven what he can do here, is available now and for a good price that will allow for the hiring of top notch assistants. Which may neutralize said flaws. #BBB

What "best" coach is UM going to hire? Saban? Miles? Swear some people live in a fantasy world. Those two guys will be HIGHLY sought after coaches after this season.

We'd be so lucky to land either of these guys. Instead we have the guy who got fired at FIU as our front runner.

Neither Herman or Fuente will give us a second look. They're bound for bigger and better programs, while we go 2-10 or 3-9 with Beanerdick and finally fold the **** program. Meanwhile Butch finally gives up and goes to UCF and later blows us out of Lifeless.

We've got some real geniuses calling the shots for this program. Absolute Einsteins! You CANNOT make this stuff up.
