Nike The Opening Thread (ESPNU 9PMET) Tonight

dalvin cook is a grown man.

Also that rb from Nc.....good lord hes built like a truck at 6'0 220.

Cane fans need to hit up berrios an keep him interested in the canes.

And George Campbell. Though I looked at Campbell's Twitter he was having conversations with the 2014 Michigan QB commit Speights. TIFWIW.

campbell is the best wr in florida..over lane...an i love lane.

campbell we have NO SHOT with..kid is uf or michigan..uf if he stays in state.

Campbell might go to Clemson as well now that Scott is about to commit to them. You are right though, if he stays in state he is going to UF.

**Corey Holmes eliminated Miami, Arkansas, Michigan.

He has a top two in his mind but let the public know its down to four schools. #ND, #OK, #UCLA #Florida

corey holmes is boys with Quincy Wilson we had no shot there.

If i was him i would take the ND offer...he'll likely play early there.

i would offer QUINCY WILSON right now...Yup i said it. his shuttle time shows he has the quick agility.

LOVe Treon Harris numbers and also Johnnie Dixon.

Also would turn the heat up on Alfredo Roberts son.

I just dont see a reason not to. he has the physical traits and if your taking project dudes like mayes you can take QW

i would of took him over mayes regardless.

you gotta recruit the kid...kiy hester just committed were not in on a bunch of safety prospects..hes one kid with size and correct speed requirements now with a solid 4.6 40. and the same shuttle as Yearby.

a safety class of Wilson and Gayot would be BEASTLY.
Also that kid would solidify some of those other sfexpress/

The staff would love Wilson at safety the problem is Wilson ONLY wants to play CB.

That's not true the staff didnt show any interest or give him an offer at all. FSU offered him at safety & he didn't count that as an official offer

I know Corey he isn't that close with Quincy they just used to play when they were younger*. ND is definitely looking like the front runner. Corey just wants to go OOS for college

4. Demetrius Knox, OG, Fort Worth (Texas) All Saints Episcopal – Though they weren’t wearing pads, Knox had no hesitation getting physical on Monday. Among all the offensive linemen in attendance, Knox seems to embrace the physical side of the position as much as anybody.

2. Joseph Yearby, RB, Miami (Calif.) Central – This is a setting made for Yearby as he was extremely shifty, beating defenders on double moves, making plas deep down the field and showing outstanding quickness in space.

4. Ermon Lane, WR, Homestead (Fla.) High School – Size-speed combination is the key with Lane. For a player that big, he is a fast glider that can wipe out defensive cushion and then out-body defenders to the football.

5. Travis Rudolph, WR, West Palm Beach (Fla.) Cardinal Newman – Crisp and precise as a route-runner, Rudolph showed light darting feet and natural hands when the ball arrives.

-Dalvin Cook 5-11 196, 4.46 40, 4.18 shuttle, 30.9 vert, 110.64 SPARQ rating
-Travis Rudolph 6-0.5 188, 4.52 40, 4.40 shuttle, 33.9 vert, 107.01 SPARQ rating
-Quincy Wilson 6-1 196, 4.60 40, 4.16 shuttle, 32.4 vert, 97.65 SPARQ rating
-Joseph Yearby 5-9 179, 4.58 40, 4.21 shuttle, 35.6 vert, 96.21 SPARQ rating
-Chris Lammons 5-9.5 171, 4.72 40, 4.23 shuttle, 30.6 vert, 83.01 SPARQ rating

A few thoughts:

- Rudolph measures out bigger than he looks. Very good size.
- Lammons is a great natural athlete, but he is not wowing anybody physically.
- Wilson put up some solid numbers for a big DB.
- I've been waiting for legitimate numbers on Cook and Yearby, and these confirm what my eyes are telling me. Cook is the bigger and faster player by a solid margin.

Was that ever a disputed issue? I thought it was pretty well known that Cook is bigger and faster than Yearby. Just like its known that Yearby is more productive.

Jojo seems to test very well, and is a really good athlete. Would like to see it translate more on the field.

I think Cook put some of those size comments to rest, dude has put in some good work this offseason. Good for him, dude is a beast. We cannot lose the best player in dade 2 years running. C.A.N.N.O.T.

Depending how much D he plays this season, I think he might go on a Duke like tear.... I **** near expect it...

Not going to happen he has other elite offensive players on his team for him to have to carry the team the way Duke did.

Cook actually had more yards this year on much less carries.

One thing I do love about Yearby is his ability as a receiver. He is Duke-like in that regard.

Hmm, I saw duke play a ton...

Coach Dunn did an EXCELLENT job with duke during the season and keeping his pitch count low, maybe broke 20+ carries twice during the season. Had multiple games under 10+ carries... Rode him hard during the playoffs, duke still ended the season with 2,000+ yards. Lulz

Without looking it up, I would say Cook YPC is similar to Duke. Obviously there is alot more that goes into that but its not just carries, I mean how he controls the game, pop in Cook performance against Northwestern in playoffs and he Dominated that game (kinda like duke in playoffs his junior year against South fort meyers, KO to house, Pick 6, and carries to house) Cook had I think two runs to house, Huge punt return that set up another TD, Blocked fg att, and an INT. I think he will turn it up a notch

Oh and for all the talent that central has, Cook does work with the touches he gets, almost sure he has a 10+ ypc.

Of course that can happen when you are a home run threat from anywhere on the field. Last year was Cook's breakout year if I'm not mistaken, took him a second to come into his own maybe. Joe has been producing much more since his freshman/sophomore year correct?(legit question that I don't know the exact answer to from memory)

And the all purpose back attribute of Yearby's is something I definitely love in a RB in an attacking offense like ours. Dalvin would be an exceptional addition to our O but with our future Oline, Joe will be able to run just as wild.

Yup he had a 12.3 ypc and 23 TDs last year.
