Nick Saban covers all bases again

Slow down on the assumption that Monte's son is all of a sudden a hot commodity. Kiffin couldn't even sniff a HC job interview going into this year. He wanted to interview at Syracuse and that dumpster fire wouldn't even have him. Not sure where people think he could legitimately end up. Washington State?

Kentucky will definitely be in the market for a new coach.

Baylor and West Virginia may be. And Miles leaving LSU could open up another P5 gig.

I think this is Monte's last season as Bama OC.

Fair enough. I guess I kinda think sometimes group think goes on in sports and that idea that he's permanently tainted as head coaching material might still prevail within the minds of AD's and college presidents. That said, Kentucky would be a possibility (if there is one) that I hadn't thought of. I think a Baylor or a WVU think too highly of themselves at this point (rightly or wrongly) to take a reclamation project. But yeah, Kentucky actually kinda makes sense as they're probably dumb enough to think he brings Bama recruits with him and will be some form of an extremely poor man's Saban.

The way ADs like to hire Saban assistants like his magic is going to rub off on them, I wouldn't bet against Kiffin getting offers after this season. He's really only had one year as OC at Bama, right? If he keeps the offense humming, he's a lock to get another head coaching gig.

i think this is his 3rd year.

Blake Sims set the Bama passing records playing for Kiffin in year 1; Then Jacob Coker won a title in year 2.

Now, he's working with 2 young guys.

If UK is smart, they'll hire Brohm away from Western Kentucky. He's actually the best fit for that program.

But if they want to "win the press conference" after firing Stoops, they'll want "Bama's OC", with his SEC ties and winning pedigree.

Even though he is over-qualified, would love to get Ken Dorsey as future OC/Assistant HC once T.Brown gets poached. Problem is Richt isn't going anywhere any time soon.

It's a problem Richt isn't going anywhere anytime soon?

I think Walsh-Rosborough means the problem specific to Dorsey's career path. That said, this could all boil down to a Chud type preference for Kenny too. Does he want to be a college coach or does he prefer the NFL? Without debating the merits of hiring him as a future Asst HC/ "OC", it would be a good launching point for him in the college game as he'd instantly be viewed as a "head coach in waiting" here while also not carrying the full responsibility of being an OC. He's setup to get an OC job in the NFL at some point here though so again it comes down to what he prefers and longterm career goals as I bet their are and will be college opportunities available to him even if our homecoming hypothetical never materializes.

Could Kool possibly be Diaz's replacement in waiting when he gets poached for a HC opportunity?

or of course fired for under performance...lets hope for the former...

Exactly what he's doing. Many people thought Sark was the brains of the operation at USC when he and *****in were OCs there under Carroll.

Smart part of this play is that Saban can have Sark as long as he wants him there because he's not getting another HC gig.

You really think Sark is going to Alabama to be a career OC? I don't think I agree with that. He is probably going so he can have perception of learning under saban while rehabilitating his image to land another HC job.

The media has already spun the Kiffin story for him to be considered for another HCing gig they will do similar work for Sark.

Sark is a total pariah. This isn't *****in rehabbing his image as a failed HC. Sark was drinking at work and openly drunk on the job. He was drunk and abusing boosters at fund raising events. Then he sued USC for discriminating against him when they fired him.

He's radioactive, and won't be touching a HC gig any time in the near or distant future. On top of all that, he was a **** HC anyway.

Nice.

Sarkasian was hired to prevent LSU from going after him. Whatever the reason, its amazing how deep 'Bama's pockets go.

Hiring Steve Sarkisian as an ANALYST is a ruse to have Lane Kiffins replacement around so when Kiffins leaves there will be no drop off. He seems to be 1 step ahead of everyone else

yall acting like kiffen is some offensive wizard..their offense is nothing special at all with Kiffen

Saban is playing Chess, while the rest of the college football world is busy playing Checkers. Now... where... is.... that... gif?

Saban is going to have to breathalyze him before every game!
