Ronde Barber tho?
First thing I thought too. That seems like the kind of dude that got in because he was marketable with his brother and he was a stat compiler due to longevity. Longevity in that league is definitely respectable but was he ever really a prolonged super dominant player or one that you had to gameplan around?

I think he deserved to get in eventually:

SB Champion
5x All Pro
5x Pro Bowler
NFL All Decades Team
47 ints
28 sacks
14 TDs

He wasn’t 1st ballot material, but he was bound to get in.

I have no problem with it as I'm not emotionally or intellectually invested in saying he doesn't belong in but it was just a name that I don't personally associate with HoF level "greatness".

My retrospective "eye-test" aside, the stats you cited combined with things like him having 200+ starts and then little niche type stats like "only player with 45+ INTs and 25+ sacks" were going to make his induction inevitable. Those are all easy things for the guys that present your case to the voters to super effectively utilize during their presentations.

Exactly; however, imo, as I look at particularly the MLB’s & the NFL’s HOF prerequisites, they’ve watered them down tremendously. Both halls r becoming filled w/ hall of very good players. Ronde, if imma be honest, is hall of very good material, but just knowing how they vote now, & what they look for, I said absolutely he should be a HOFer.

If u asked me that same question literally 5 yrs ago, I promise u my tune would be different. 15 yr career & 5 pro bowls? That’s a 33% elite clip as recognized by either peers, coaches, or fans. I just know the criteria’s have changed, & niche stats put guys over the top. I threw out those stats/accomplishments b/c it appears a SB + 3+ pro bowls r now the admittance.

Brother when I saw Terrell Davis get in over Sterling Sharpe, I said OK, now I know this chit is rigged.

Were going to have a nice run of HOF in the next 8-10 years. Andre,Reggie, Hester and Gore should get in. Then maybe Wilfork and Calais Campbell. Anyone else I'm missing?

Terrell Davis (7 seasons, 3 post-injury)
Elite player, career was derailed by injury. And did wait 11 years for induction.

4th member of the 2,000 yard season club (1998)
2× Super Bowl champion (XXXII, XXXIII)
Super Bowl MVP (XXXII)
NFL Most Valuable Player (1998)
2× NFL Offensive Player of the Year (1996, 1998)
3× First-team All-Pro (1996–1998)
3× Pro Bowl (1996–1998)
2× NFL rushing touchdowns leader (1997, 1998)
NFL rushing yards leader (1998)
NFL 1990s All-Decade Team

Sterling Sharpe (7 seasons)
Elite player, career was derailed by injury

3× First-team All-Pro (1989, 1992, 1993)
5× Pro Bowl (1989, 1990, 1992–1994)
3× NFL receptions leader (1989, 1992, 1993)
2× NFL receiving touchdowns leader (1992, 1994)
NFL receiving yards leader (1992)

Sterling definitely was a HOF talent but let's not his omission diminish what Davis accomplished.
