You're right - here's some recent Miami Safety 40's
Redwine - 4.45
Meriweather - 4.47
Phillips - 4.48
Jenkins - 4.51
Gunter - 4.62
Bush - 4.64
Carter - 4.64
Johnson - 4.69
Facts
There was a thread not to long ago about how the speed at DB needed to improve and we needed more 4.4 and 4.3 guys.I don't think the issue with our corners has been straight line speed in shorts...and I don't think anyone serious on here has been saying that either.
The problem is that they get beat too often by guys that are slower than they are, fail to get their head turned around to find the ball, etc.
You're angry because you look foolish right now.Cause he ran fast?
Before last season I said the same thing especially with his testing, ability at fs and experience at cb. Teams will be interestedWould not be shocked if Redwine is picked ahead of Johnson.
Michael jackson with a 6’1 210, 4.45 40, 40.5 vertical, 10’10 broad jump is crazy...
Yup - Kenny Phillips ran a 4.48.Didn't realize Meriweather ran in the 4.4s.
I'm assuming that's Kenny Phillips and not Randy - Kenny had solid speed.
40 yd dash numbers are stupid the test is stupid. How often you run a complete straight line in football. Cut on the tape and tell me what you see
Athletically Redwine is actually a fairly gifted Safety, his issue up until his Senior year was his instincts.Said it last week, Redwine had a really impressive senior year. Far better than Colbert and even Jenkins, both of which have started in the NFL.
He’s got all the tools to be a rock solid player in the show for years.
I do?You're angry because you look foolish right now.
I think he can compete as an in box safety , doesn’t have great measurables or testing numbers but he can play and play pretty **** physical
I think Quan will be fine in run support. The problem will be covering the bigger tight ends.
A realistic, positive comparison for him is Ricardo Allen. He was 5'9 187, 4.61 at the combine and ended up as a quality safety.
