NFL Combine Thread

Athleticism doesn't matter an iota for running backs. Could be nice to find a diamond in the rough...sure...say Aaron Jones from UTEP a few years back, but then you also have Phil Lindsey, Dalvin Cook, Elijah McGuire, etc that are productive and are all below average to terrible testing athletes.

Aaron Jones was not a diamond in the rough. He was CUSA best back for 2 years on a TERRIBLE UTEP squad.

For the same reason they make offensive linemen jump at the Combine. They want to see who is a physical beast who might be a diamond in the rough with good coaching. It doesn't matter, though, he ran a bad 40.
Who ran a bad forty? Certainly not Homer.

Sheesh Michael jackson, at that frame he may just move to safety in the league. Regardless he got some long arms , hands and wingspan for a corner for sure. If he runs well those are freakish measurables for a corner

Remember debating with me about Joe Jackson and Michael Jackson.
Go check their draft profiles right now and look at what analysts are saying. Almost identical to what I said.

Willis is the only player that has a shot at 1st round and unfortunately this class is *** deep with DT’s. MJ will probably go late 2nd or 3rd. He has great makeup speed but consistently got beat inside way too many times this season.

Nah. Willis MAYBE but Jackson doesn't have 1st round ability. He has a 1st round body though.
It depends on his combine. If he runs a 4.7 or better with a 35 or better vert it might still happen. He’s had consistent production for 3 years with 22 career sacks. He would’ve been a double digit sack guy this season if he wasn’t banged up. His measurables so far look enticing compared to Polite and Burns. It only takes one team.
