NFL Combine Thread

I'd prefer they just take a flyer on Will Grier then in the 2nd round and take a defensive lineman in the 1st. Then if they don't like what they see from Grier it's a lot easier to move on from him unlike if they take Jones 13th.

They kept Tannehill a few years too many based on his draft pedigree and no one wanting to admit they messed up a 1st round pick.
One of the the most logical and well thought out post I have seen regarding drafting and analysis. Excellent post

My Ravens need WR's, a RB & another Safety.

I hope we draft either Homer or Darrell Henderson, we don't have a 2nd round pick though unless we trade up, the 2 of them probably won't still be around by the mid to late 3rd.

At WR, Hakeem Butler, Marquise Brown or even Tyre Brady in a late round pick would be good.

At Safety Quan would be perfect in the Ravens Defense learning under Eric Weddle for a season. Interested to see how John Battle tests as well, he could be a good value pick in rounds 3-5.
I agree with all those players and would love to see Jaquan as a raven. I don’t believe in Lamar Jackson though. Justice hill out of ok st might be a better RB than homer imo

They expected a Gator to step in for a Cane. Jaquan is going to be a starter in the NFL. If he runs a low 4.6 he’ll go by round 3. If he runs faster he’s gonna go a lot earlier.

Jaquan Johnson is really undersized with short arms.

He's a really good football player, but I hope he doesn't turn in a poor combine performance.

Well, Minnesota is going to be completely inept this offseason and continue to ignore protecting Kirk cousins with actual offensive linemen and not converted tight ends, so fuggit I hope they draft gerald Willis, idk what's going on with sheldon Richardson

His film and acumen likely can make up for it.
He is undersized at his position but actually has thump in hits and run fits and has pretty good instinct. He should be a mid rounder from 4th to 6th round.

That's actually ridiculous that Alex Barnes put up 34 reps as a RB. He was projected to go 7th round before today. He's a 6'1 227 lb back who can skyrocket up the draft board if he runs a 4.5 40 tomorrow (his goal) with that height, weight, and reps on the bench.
What does a bench press matter for a RB? Just overall upper body strength. Check the box, but doesn't mean much. Keep it moving.

What order will the Six canes be drafted this year?

I predict the following:

  1. J Jackson
  2. M. Jackson
  3. Homer
  4. Willis
  5. Quan
  6. Redwine

All go before round 5

Yep.

Ed Reed was "undersized" and clearly wasn't the fastest guy on the team.

But he still ended up being one of the best ever in college and the pros.

Jaquan knows how to play - I think he'll be fine.

His film and acumen likely can make up for it.

Sheesh Michael jackson, at that frame he may just move to safety in the league. Regardless he got some long arms , hands and wingspan for a corner for sure. If he runs well those are freakish measurables for a corner

But they also were snakebit but mediocre play from second round QBs... Beck, Henne, White...

I like Murray and Haskins as top five picks. Not sure I see any other QB in this draft as starting caliber. If fins really want to tank they shouldn’t worry about drafting a QB on days 1 or 2, they should sign someone like Brudgewater and roll with him for a year.
