Next year will be no better

Even if we have a new coach, even if it’s Cristobal....the amount of disruption that will be caused....the likely elimination of this years recruiting class (we really need those three CBS just to have bodies)...the potential transfers of our most talented players....we could find ourselves in the same situation that Norvell entered. This could take two or three years just to get the program back to this level.

This was such a dispiriting loss.
What is the point of this exactly? That the program is a bad spot now? Thanks.

Our defense is horrendous mainly because we have terrible players and no depth. Yes, Manny is a disgrace of a coach. But the idea we have talent on that side of the ball is laughable. IMO, you can't fill that void over two years with the portal after whiffing completely on a recruiting class. We'll have to hope we can grab a solid OL or two out of the portal and out shoot teams next year.
Yeah I agree. We have a few players, but way too many JAGs.

Ford
Miller
Flagg
Carter
Ivey
Steed
Couch
Clarke
Johnson
McCloud

The true talent is young.

Taylor
Smith
Kitchens
Williams

The young safeties had a rough game.

Imagine Mario winning it all at Oregon (they're 3rd right now) and then walking out the door to cone here.

I don't think our talented players are transferring, we're not even close to FSU situation.

This team is losing 3-5 games next year, I don't see us being the top team in the coastal until 2023, most likely 2024. Too many holes on this roster, maybe if TVD reaches God level we can be this year version of Pitt or Wake and win the division with a flawed team. If we hire a great recruiter and pour money into the program 2024 can be the year we can expect a 10 win season.

Please don't mention MSU, that is ONE example and probably an outlier, you don't plan the future based on outliers

Bring us a real coach and we’re fine. Imagine bringing in a Muschamp as our defensive coordinator for example. There would be overnight improvement
Muschamp hasn't coordinated a solid defense in over a decade.

There was a consistent downtrend in his defenses as DC, and even moreso during his HC stint at South Carolina.

He wouldn't fix ****, other than maybe a slight improvement in LB recruiting.

With Portal and competent staff.. We will be good.. Offense should be explosive and hopefully a real defense.. We put up points with one run play.. imagive with Kiffin and Lebby offense..

The right coach is worth it. There’s nothing bigger in college football
Yep, your best players cycle out after 3 years anyway.

It's all about the HC... and said HC needs a QB (unless you're Saban) to elevate the team to the elite level.

When has Saban not had a good quarterback?

We need to stop hiring player friendly coaches. Miami needs a mean mother-******. A real disciplinarian. We need to stop giving a **** about recruiting classes when it comes to coaching hires. When we win games, the recruiting will take care of itself.

There's room for both.

The HC doesn't have to be a mean ******* - but he has to establish where the line is and hold players accountable. I think Manny just wants to play XBox with them all.

Ever?

Last 4 have been the best he's had, but I wouldn't take any of them on an NFL team. He won a National Title with McElroy and McCarron ffs.
Both McElroy and McCarron were good (and very smart) college quarterbacks.

Disagree. You can change the culture by bringing in a ton of portal kids if you do it the right way. Michigan State brought in 20 portal guys.

Manny fell into the same trap as Gloden/Richt too proud to make the corrections where needed. Golden was defense Richt offense Manny defense. If any one of those guys did the obvious we would be in good shape. But it never happened so we move on

Of course there is room for both, but the focus needs to be on an alpha coach whose main focus is coaching — not being these kids’ friend.

Nope. We'll have a small high school recruiting class, but NY understandingvis there are several former South Florida high school 4-5 star players not happy and want to transfer back home to Miami.

We also have nice pieces on both sides 9f the ball. The offensive line will be even better when Rivers and Campbell return.

The team needs a reboot of the culture and better coached as a team.
