We have a soft schedule and enough talent to win. If we don't, that is on Richt.
Exactly. He has 8 months to get this turned around and it isn't like we have no talent. The minimum is 10 wins and playing in the ACC ship.
So he's got 8 months to beat fsu and notre Dame (on the road) and if he slips up elsewhere he's a failure as a coach... Hmm smh
We don't have championship talent.
Don't get me wrong.. I have no doubt richt will get us to the Acc champ game and have us at 10 wins. But It's not the end of the world if we lose to a unc or VA tech and finish with 9 wins his first year in my opinion.
The ACC will be much better next year with new coaches and our schedule gets harder.
Just becuase we finished 8-5 this year
(should be 7-6 becuase knee was down on Duke return) doesn't mean we're automatically 11-1 with a new coach (although I hope and I know we will be soon). I just know already richt is going to get too much crap unnecessarily from this fan base the second we lose a game
That one comment shows me how soft shouldered you really are. Either you didn't watch the dook game, or are clueless as to what went down in the 4th quarter. WE never should have had to have a highlight reel return to win that game. Then again, you were slurping our former HC for a very longtime.
always a lot of talk but you never add anything meaningful to the board. You just go around hoping coaches fail and claiming anyone who speaks reason is a "slurper" or "soft shouldered"
you're right. There were two terrible PI calls in that Duke game and it was questionable if the Duke player ever even crossed the goal line so we shouldn;t have been in that situation to have to have that miracle play...but we were.. AGAINST DUKE. We lost to them last year too.
so tell me something now..i'm "soft shouldered" but you're the one making excuses trying to justify our win against ****ing duke of all teams. DUKE. Are we not miami anymore because we lose/miraculously beat teams like duke? I certainly don't remember the old miami teams of the early 2000's losing to Duke or fans making excuses for wins over ****ty teams. Seems a little "soft shouldered" to me.
I never was a "slurper". did I believe after we won 9 games that we were going in at least a positive direction under him? yes we had a shot at 10 wins for the first time in more than a decade. Was I completely sold? no because we got our asses kicked by FSU, Duke and Vt three weeks in a row but was still hoping for that 10th win. However I gave up on golden right when I watched us get our asses kicked by Louisville in person in the russell athletic bowl in the next game.
Just because I'm not living in 2001 doesn't mean i'm soft shouldered. It just means I know what the realistic expectiations are. I choose to take that route over your doom and gloom "10 wins and championship or else" mentality. Maybe I lost that mentality because we have been a ****ty program for 15 years. Maybe I've realized we've never won an acc championship, much less played for one.
Do I expect more? of course, thats why richt needs to be successful, win acc championships and take us to the playoff. But it's moronic to not accept improvement when we've had absolute **** play the last 15 years
