Just got this espn notification on my phone, saw Miami and chuckled. Proceeded to swipe to exit notification

I think the 2020 Canes will be surprising in that the offensive numbers will be hugely improved (top 40) but the defense will end up dropping off significantly because the number of offensive plays will also result in a corresponding increase of defensive plays. Instead of losing games 13-0, Miami will lose games 38-35. I'm not impressed with the Manny Diaz defense. Never have been. It's high risk, high reward but I don't think its "solid" in the sense that you can depend on the D to keep the opponent from driving down the field in a 2 minute drill and scoring points. We end up winning 9 games and Diaz gets another year, with the same disappointing defensive staff that is mediocre at coaching and absolutely brutal at recruiting.

At the same time, doesn't a high risk, high reward D thrive when the O is scoring points?
 
That 2018 LSU team went 10-3, won the Fiesta Bowl, beat two teams that finished in the top 10, and their only losses came to three teams ranked in the top 15.

We just lost to FIU, Duke, and La Tech and had a losing record.

All those slow paced play action plays and runs to the boundary, they'll be nice to see gone rather than our staple.

Don't get me wrong, our OL will still be an issue as it stands without new bodies, but we didn't help ourselves out with out playcalling.

Better shore up the kicking game as well and 10 wins is a real possibility.

True, but that's a lot more than our QBs that can't manage to win a game against FIU, Duke or La Tech.

yes but ours seem to turn into a insta ***** and the other uses the portal as leverage every time he gets screamed at. if any of the three had the mentality and work ethic burrow had, wed be better off

Got to put the investment in time for the Winning results.
You can't fake it, scam, hide, and play games.
The sweat equity investment can be substantiated by former Canes. Zo confirmed you have to work for the payoff, that is what Burrows probably did.
Total immersion.
 
We have Burrow level athletic talents at QB. We do not have Burrow level commitment. Everyone leaves that out. No doubt Brady and company deserve a bunch of credit but without Burrows commitment to improving, they don’t do this. He was on a mission in his own right.
