New practice jersey (pic)

Adidas can go ahead and put their freakin' stripes all over the jersey if it means getting rid of the feathers on the game jerseys.

The feathers on the sleeves is such a small part of the uniform. But everybody acts like its the biggest deal and ruins the entire uniform. Y'all need to calm down, it's really not that bad, and definitely not bad enough to even come close to ruining the uniform. Personally I'd say the fact that everything is shiny is the worst part of the uni. I'd rather have the colors on the helmet jersey and pants be non shiny, but that doesn't mean the jerseys are bad.

Our jerseys, pants, and alternate helmets are the best they've been in over a decade.

Hey!

Chickens have feathers. Strippers use feathers. Vegas dance girls wear feathers. Oregon Ducks wear feathers. There's even feathers in chicken**it.

UM don't need no stinking feathers!

Feathers make you look like a bunch of New Orleans #@&&ots. No prancing. No posing. No feathers.

I mean yeah Oregon has feathers on their uniforms, and it looks pretty legit, so not sure what your point is. There's also feathers on the Bald Eagle, which is pretty ******* bad *** and American.

Our mascot is a **** Ibis which has feathers, its not like this came from nowhere.

The point. Is NO FEATHERS.

This is UM. Not a San Francisco Bathhouse with a fashion bend.

not crazy about the U on the shoulder but glad they moved that adidas to the side and away from the center above canes...

Oregon is Nike... If nike did feathers they would be dope. Adidas limp-wristed attempt to make Miami the Oregon of their brand was an epic fail.

If the idea behind the gear is to appeal to recruits, then listen to what they like, not to a bunch of old men stuck in the glory years clinging to tradition like it's their mama's teet.

The recruits have spoken. They prefer ostentatious over boring. The two uniforms they hated the most: Alabama and Ped State. They love Oregon, and they even love that crazy nonsense from Maryland.

Male fans shouldn't give a squirt of diarrhea about uniforms other than how they might be used to appeal to recruits. If the mindset is to make something fun and appealing to recruits based on the science of what actually appeals to them, then how can you whine about a fcking uniform?

But doesn't this prove the point that there is no legitimate reason to let 17 year old kids bastardize your brand? It's not like Alabama and Penn State have problems recruiting with those "boring" uniforms.

Miami is not a traditional program. There's no bastardization of tradition where no tradition actually resides. We've changed our uniforms pretty consistently since day one of the program.

Your problem with these adidas changes isn't that they're bastardizing any tradition because we have none when it comes to uniforms. Instead, it's that they're doing things that you don't like esthetically.

Chise, many of us are aware that you like to wear your tutu around the house, and even get the mail in it. You're truly a hip fashion guru, and that's an admirable quality I assume.

We just don't want our team looking like they just came off the chorus line at a San Francisco Dinner Club.

For the record, tradition is not always a bad thing. (Check yourself - I think the seam in the back is crooked.)

The logic behind this makes me chuckle. Last I checked the CEO of Adidas did not graduate of Miami. Oregon and Maryland are supplied with the best Nike and Under Armour have to offer. Of course recruits will enjoy getting new **** every week. You can have a clean uniform that isn't "boring".

Huh? You're lost, son. Take a knee.

If it was an issue with tradition, why did nobody go ape-**** over the 2001 uniforms? They were a total break in what had been a consistent line of basic orange, white and green uniforms. If Miami had won the national title last year, everyone would be loving the feathers or whatever that crap is on the shoulders. The truth is, kids like new uniforms. Is it the be-all end-all in recruiting? Absolutely not but any little bit of edge Miami can get is fine with me.

I personally like the old school 80's uniforms that were boring. But I'm 37 years old and my sense of fashion isn't on par with an 18 year old.

The current unis come from the same mold as the 2001's. The only difference is adidas decided to implement the ibis instead of a hurricane and for whatever reason adidas is catching heat for it. Personally I think the currents look better than 01's, shiny numbers and "Miami on the front" aside of course.

I never liked the 2001 uniforms. IMO, our brand came of age in the 80's. That's the look they should strive to emulate.

I'm right there with you. I'm also assuming you're at least as old, if not older than I am. Kids these days. lol.

This response actually speaks volumes AK_Cane.

The fact is this, Miami's current uniforms weren't on the favorite or non-favorite list. Our previous Uniforms w/ Nike changed over time...we had the classic 80's uniforms, we changed it up a bit in the 90's, the iconic early 2000's, then the pro-combat gear in 2010-2014. The designs were nothing outrageous, and they stayed clean and to this day, fans are still rocking those jerseys, not these new ones.

Kids are prone to all type of different color schemes....The Black Ice and White Ice Jersey's that we sported last year were clean, but the fiesta feathers all over the place on our weekly game day joints is ridiculous...and no way our practice jerseys should look better than our game day jerseys.

what's not to like about the 01 jerseys? Although, the 80's jerseys are still my favorite too, to be honest.
