MEGA New Miami Adidas Ultraboost🔥 - The Shoe and Nike/Adidas Thread.

I’ve been clear about this from the beginning.

Miami should have created the situation for Nike to feel that it had a shot to get Miami back, if even that was only for competitive reasons. Miami has not done that.

Second, I’m tired of the one-sided leak fest of myths that is trying to give rise to this slam dunk blowout. I we as once pro-adidas/****-Nike…10 years ago, and premised on false information.

This was a reasonably simple task for Dan. Talk to Nike, acknowledge the BS that Beta Blake pulled, and indicate a desire to put the band back together if Nike comes close on the terms.

Never happened.
You know i disagree with a lot of this. IMO, Nike should have created the situation to get Miami back and put more effort. We are the client lol. That didn’t happen. Adidas has done the complete opposite. We will see what happens as I expect an announcement sometime this year.

The announcement should come beginning of season if compared to last year announcements

Miami (under Beta Blake) ****ed up the relationship when he became AD. I don’t disagree with you on outcome, but it’s just ridiculous to only be on good terms with one bidder. Whatever adidas promises, they have a history of underdelivering. And I’m not just talking about Miami.

The font, yes.

The material, not sure.

The CUT? Now that's something that @Rellyrell could tell you about, he posted on this very same thing last year (the way that the different kinds of material are stitched together in the middle of the jersey.

The material is the same “new, upgraded” material they’re using for their tier 1 teams, but the # designs r from that recycled plastic jawn.

The worst part is the fan replicas of these; like zero effort were put into the fan versions. I’m their X explanation & they said it was inspired by the rows of corn fields. Lol.

I’ve seen some Nebraska fans say these jerseys r between NC State & Wisky. I don’t they’re bad; they feel a little throwback-ish w a hint of modern flare.

Don’t believe everything you hear. It’s quite the opposite, Adidas wants to make certain brothers at Miami very happy by prioritizing Miami. If Nike had the better deal, Miami would go back to Nike. This is a business at the end of the day.

Didn't I just say that?

Maybe I misread your point, and if so, my bad. There have been rumors floating around that certain people at Miami are pushing Adidas for political reasons or some kind of conspiracy, but that’s simply not true. I assumed that’s what you were hinting at.

At the end of the day, this decision is about one thing: money. Today, Adidas is offering the best deal, and that’s what’s driving the conversation.

I'll just say there are business interests aligned on both sides of the deal. I don't think there's a true supermajority consensus on UM's side, but there's more than enough clout to work a lucrative deal (and Adidas is being very receptive to that).

From what I have heard, Adidas has treated Miami extremely well and they have helped us in more ways than one. The public will never know about the things they have done but as long as it helps them seal the deal with us then I do not think they will care.

This is business if they’re paying us the most money, NIL guaranteed, and royalties going forward so be it.

I love Nike/JB more in terms of what I like to buy/wear but I can deal with adidas gear if it means the school as a whole is getting the best deal

But for ***** sake don’t lock in a decade plus deal

Adidas material always feel like polyester, that **** made from recycled quinceanera socks.

Speaking only for myself, I never said political reasons.

But minds are already 90% made up. That's a fact.

It's easy for the only bidder to offer more money when any other bidders are getting lukewarm responses. That's why Radakovich should have been stoking a better relationship with Nike since December 2021. This day was coming for four-plus years.

I've been through this before. I've changed vendors before, particularly when there is a very small pool to choose from (Big 4 accounting firms). You have to maintain good relationships. ****, I made a change from KPMG to E&Y over 15 years ago, and still maintained friendships. In my current job, I brought in KPMG and haven't used E&Y in over 10 years. Relationships.

Those points are not being argued.

What is being argued is whether Nike would have done the exact same (if not more) had Beta Blake not torpedoed the historic relationship. And we may never know if we just keep re-upping with adidas because they have treated us well since the game has changed (NIL, Fanatics, etc.).

That is all.
