MEGA New Miami Adidas Ultraboost🔥 - The Shoe and Nike/Adidas Thread.

Miami isn’t as valuable to Nike as it is to Adidas imo. But that’s literally because I think Adidas should go all out to make Miami by far their #1 priority.

Personally if I were Adidas I’d be targeting the combo of Football success, international city destination, and student enrollment /total alumni base. So that’d put the teams I’d want at like these 15 (I’m saying in like more of an idealized scenario ignoring current contracts):
- Miami… which currently have.
- one of USC or UCLA. Imo this is #2 priority to Miami.
- Don’t think you can get Texas, so I’d get both A&M and Texas Tech which they already have.
- PSU , which they just signed.
- Indiana and MichSt for their alumni base
- Washington imo would be my top program on west coast not in LA.
- Tennessee
- ASU purely for Alumni base, and decent football commitment
- UCF for Alumni base
- Georgia Tech for Atlanta
- Cal for SF and renewed football investment.
- Houston as up and coming program
- Boston College and Northwestern for Int City and would be cheap

Various factors are playing a role. Adidas has made some changes in recent years and is being more aggressive in the states. Adidas is also prioritizing South Florida. Miami, Inter Miami, FIU, FAU, Traz Powell stadium, and every HS programs are all signed with Adidas. Messi is low key a top reason for all of this. Adidas wants to make certain people in Miami happy who are linked with the university of Miami, and we will benefit greatly from it. Unlike Nike, Adidas is wine and dining Miami in more ways than one.

Yeah, and I think it's important to note that this is very unique.

On a NORMALIZED basis, the UNIVERSITY OF Miami gets its best comparatives by pitting Nike and adidas against each other.

But BECAUSE OF Messi, Inter Miami, the Mas brothers, and the CITY OF Miami (and region of Miami) specifically, adidas may WITHOUT BEING FORCED BY COMPETITIVE BID go higher than they might have otherwise gone.

I am still bothered by a critical factor BEYOND Miami, and that is the "flagship" nonsense. A big part of the bids to Tennessee and Pedo State was that "those schools" would be "FLAGSHIP" schools for adidas.

And yet...not everyone can be a flagship school. Nike seems to address the "premium" Nike schools by making them JORDAN BRAND. But you don't have a comparable within the adidas brand. All you have with adidas are promises, and adidas has broken its promises to Miami before. In fact, on the list of most highly-compensated schools that was posted on a prior page of this thread, Louisville is STILL ahead of UM, though they signed their deal only two years after we did.

If adidas stops breaking promises and follows through on things that we think they are offering, then it will be hard for Nike to top that. I can acknowledge that.

Whooooooooo Child; today is my off day, so I must address several flat out misnomers in this thread. My goodness.

NIL: Nike & Adidas r the clear leader in this dept, however there’s a fundamental difference.

Ppl have short memories, & thank God I’m blessed w a long one (press play). There’s something called Deja Vu, & once upon a time not too long ago, The 3 Stripe Life seemingly dominated FL. Maybe some forgot this commercial:

During this same time frame it was 3-stripes over Checks, & a lot of this came from right here in our fan base. Now, how have Adidas’ NIL benefited Adidas’ schools, b/c that’s the point of NIL at this level, correct? Well, let’s look at Adidas’ NIL classes:

•Bruce Branch III - BYU Cougars (Nike)
•Chris Henry Jr - O$U (Nike)
•Jeremiah Smith - O$U (Nike)
•Oliviyah Edwards - USCe (Nike)
•Kate Harping - UNC (Jordan)
•Anthony Thompson - O$U (Nike)
•Kaleena Smith (Special K) - Undeclared, but 5 Finalist all Nike
•Adam Oummidoch - Villanova (Nike)
•Caleb Holt - Arizona (Nike)
•Ian Jackson - UNC (Jordan) *has since transferred to St John’s (Adidas)
•Karter Knox - Arkansas (Nike)
•Tyler Atkinson - Texas (Nike)
•Winston Watkins - LSU (Nike)
•Kayden Dixon-Wyatt - USC (Nike)
•Madden Iamaleava - UCLA (Jordan)
•Honor Fa’alave-Johnson - USC (Nike)
•David Jacobs - O$U (Nike)
•Jamier Brown - O$U (Nike)

Since Adidas have made a “concerted effort” w NIL, these r the only athletes that signed w Adidas branded schools:
•Mikel Brown -UL
•Darryn Peterson - KU
•Taylen Kinney - KU
•Tristan Keys - UTenn
•Madden Williams -TAMU
•Trey Taylor - Nebraska
•Nick Lennear - Miami

I would argue that an Adidas NIL athlete has a better shot at signing w a Nike or Jordan branded school than an Adidas school.

There’s only one Nike NIL that’s attended or attending a rival school & that’s Stokes going to KU for class of 2027, & even then…well, nvm; anyways, carry on regarding all the **** Adidas will be doing for Miami….oh, b4 I forget….remember when Adidas “signed” Ward to a NIL deal when they thought he was going to win the Heisman? Yet, we still have….u know what, like I said carry on.

Great thread, btw.

When I read this, the theme music to 'Requiem for a Dream' started randomly playing.

That's how depressing reading this made me feel lol

May be wrong here, but is it the same material and font we used for those nasty recycled jerseys? View attachment 365828

The font, yes.

The material, not sure.

The CUT? Now that's something that @Rellyrell could tell you about, he posted on this very same thing last year (the way that the different kinds of material are stitched together in the middle of the jersey.
