The “sneaker culture” has been sullied, bro. I’m not randomly saying this, sneaker purist have seen the clickbait guys go viral & have followed trends. One of my partners is a former marketing director for Nike & he highlighted the quickest way to build ur brand is to be controversial or tell half truths w zero context. He’s highlighted how players or schools switch brands all the time, but it’s when it’s a school or player that leaves Nike, that’s the biggest draw. That’s the “Nike has fallen off” viral videos, although the market share, data, sales say otherwise.
We talk all the time & its not just shoes, it’s every topic:
Relationships:
How to build a successful relationship? Mid #’s
Women ain’t ****? Viral
Men ain’t ****? Viral
Wholesome Girl? Little Followers
Buss Down Tatiana? 500k+ Followers
Clothes:
Regular, put together outfit? Eh
Balenciaga Skirt for Men? Viral engagement
It is what it is; I’ve been to EYBL tourneys, been to the Nike pop ups during All Star Weekend, been to TOMA. I’ve seen fights break out over releases, I’ve seen kids begging for Nike to pick them, so I don’t go off what some accounts say. I’m led by data, inside info, & a level head that the hypebeast era is now dying down & it’s back to the retail era where I could get any shoe I wanted w/o a 3rd party.
