I know. Someone earlier stated that it was an NCAA policy. It's not. Although most teams have adopted a similar policy to what Miami started back in 2015.it's a miami policy, not adidas policy

However every school must ensure they are not selling jerseys because of the player.
A&M is selling #12, because they own the rights to the "12th man" they refer their fanbase to (seahawks also use).
