Apologies, I thought Campbell was the starter and Nelson was the back-up in previous weeks, but last week was an OR as well. I think Nelson has proven to be the better option so far this yearNelson has been solid at LT. Why is it good there is an "OR" with Campbell?
Prob cuz he doesn't look as bad as Campbell. One play Campbell got ragdolled right into King, I was embarrassed for himNever gets mentioned but I can't think of a game in last 2 years where it looked like Gaynor wasn't dropping back further than the QB. That mf goes unmentioned every week and this little arm man does nothing outside of manage to not snap ball erratically. He has never gotten any push against a DT dating back to Savanah St. @Liberty City El @DMoney am I watching a different game?
He was back there on kickoff return vs Pitt. Just none of them were returnable kicks. That dude from Pitt had a booming leg. Even his Fgs were hitting the top of the next.Whoa knighton #1 kickoff return!
Agreed I hated how commentators started talking about his leg brace was affecting his drops. But the reason our insiders zone run is so overly ineffective is because there is interior penetration immediately at the snap.Prob cuz he doesn't look as bad as Campbell. Our WR corp was called out on college gameday before Pitt and they still didn't perform like they should have. This was a change that was destined to happen.

RiversGaynor has played well to me. There is always some initial knockback because he has to snap the ball, but he is strong and can recover.
The bigger issue has been guard. Clark is really a center, and Scaife may be college tackle/pro center. We need more strength there.
LMAO at Napper the Snapper! At 5'9" and 196, I could be the starting snapper. At first glance, I thought, "wow, there are a lot of players from Oregon on the roster."
Also we have Napper the Snapper. That's what I like to see in recruiting.
I agree with some of that but I think collectively the middle of our Oline gets bullied. Anytime there is 1-1 matchups we get abused. I think Gaynor works well in double teams but part of centers job is to prevent initial surge. With King being so short I think it adds to his inaccuracy when he gets interior pressure. Some QBs can throw over the top still but his only option is to scramble outside the pocket.Gaynor has played well to me.
