I do t know coaches like the rest of you ******* know it alls, but I think we need to make a huge splash. No more “Miami guys”, or up and comers. We need to spend the money and steal a winning coach. I’m tired of the carousel and think it’s time to make Miami a place coaches want to come.

Why Lane? What has he done to prove we should risk the next 3-5 years with him? He has been at schools with large funds and still failed. What makes him at Miami different, or are we going off of name alone?

I votes for Mario for a particular reason, our O-line would most likely be a vast improvement. He understands the “animal” that is Miami. Everyone on this board has favorite coaches, particularly Jimmy, Butch and Howard. The common denominator here is that they were not players coaches. Dennis, Larry, Radio doesn’t count because he was Radio, Al and Manny were all players coaches. Lane is also a players coach. Could be the Marine in me.

Semper Canes!!!

My choice is Mario for 3 reasons. Leadership, Toughness and recruiting. Like Butch 2.0 but with more experience. I have the same game day questions though.

Lane would be my second choice because his offenses would be unstoppable but I’m concerned about his burnout factor.

Lane short-term, Mario long-term.

Having the option to pick either one of them is a nice change for once.

Edit: and I find Lane to be more realistic. Mario will win out and not leave Oregon.

I still don't get all the Mario love. what has the guy done to warrant everybody to want him so bad? He is maybe 4th on my list at best. Pac is probably worse than the ACC and every game they play is closer than it should be. He has a win vs OSU. That's it. Take that away he has done nothing and is a average coach at best and his record backs that up... His offense doesn't fit what we have on our roster. Kiffin is plug and play with our roster. Do yall want to win now or 4-5 years down the road IF MARIO MAKES IT THAT LONG before yall call for his head

He recruits Oregon well. Not 1 player committed from Florida. He will not have the same success in South Florida that he does out west. To many bigger programs poaching recruits down here

Even @Andrew has said it’s time to fire Manny, Fraggle. Another year of Manny will set our recruiting back to 2024 or 25. He’s toast here. His decisions have been pretty bad this year from no LB’s from the portal, to the way injured players were handled to being his own DC. It’s enough.
The true freshmen playing now are his recruits and playing well!

I base my decision on the fact UM will pay for a complete, total staff and not just the HC. Meaning great coordinators.

1. Lane Kiffin
2. Aranda
3. Mark Stoops
4. Leach
5. Mario
6. Napier

This is what I don't get. No guarantee Mario comes and all of a sudden we start landing top 5 classes. Could happen sure, but not some slam dunk. Leaving Oregon to take Miami job is the most clout he can bring us though.

He trotted inferior talent out ahead of better young players until the older players were injured and he had no choice.

The 2 safeties and LT were scores in recruiting. How’s LB, DT aside from LT or DE? TRob landed some CB commits but essentially we’re a safety recruiting juggernaut.

How about the way injured players were dealt with?

Some of the **** done to our players in different ways - from wasting talent and development to injuries - was just criminal in my opinion. He’s responsible.

Stoops is the 15th-highest paid coach in the country and is set to make $5.25 million this season. His total contract buyout as of Dec. 1, 2021 is $19.9 million.

Which means we would have to cut a $30 million check (grossed-up for income taxes) to cover Stoops' buyout.
