Anyone but....

Fraggle… aside from what I’ve already stated, Diaz has a defense that’s one of the worst in the country. We have a top 3 in the country in terms of a returning veteran team and we might not make a bowl. He has losses to FIU, Louisiana Tech or whoever the **** that was and now to the worst FSU team in a zillion years.Roosuseu, Bolden, King, Avantae, need I go on...he has done well with the portal and has been complimented for his use of the portal so criticizing his recruiting is a lame argument....everyone acknowledges our talent or do they over estimate expectations? We've seen the new kids and they are good with the same coaches...think about it, recycle or take a chance. Get rid of Patke, hire a quality DC, trust new talent and watch. Also improve any assistant via the new money.
Part of the learning curve, not tobe wasted
Can I ask what's the fascination with THerman?Mario 1, Clawson 2, Herman 3 for me.
Thanks Fraggle........for bringing perspective. I mean, I like Mario but I don't think he is a "can't miss" selection for Miami.By the way:
Mario Cristobal Overall coaching record: 61–58![]()
Wow! I read through 7 pages and 122 posts before someone with real football knowledge chimes in with LUKE FICKELL!Because I firmly believe Luke Fickell will have Saban-like results with a major-conference team when he eventually moves on from Cincinnati, I'd just as soon that be to Miami.
We could do much worse than the Fickell finger of Fate, and I won't mention the Force in deference to Luke.
I choose Mario before Lane. Lane hasn’t won anything, ever.
Though at the end of the day, I question if either chooses us.
If we got either of Mario, lane or stoops I would be happy. But we gotta get a legit ad as well.Stoops, the coach who is actually building a program, from basically nothing.
I'm aware of his record and the time it's taken. Is this really building a program 54 - 53 over 9 seasons? 30-17 over the past 5 years? 20-14 over the past 3 years? Please don't try to convince me that UM fans would tolerate this kind of performance, never going to happen. His first three years, 12-24 and Manny is 19-15 in the same time period. This is not an argument to keep Manny, it's a statement of reality that UM would never give Mark Stoops 5 years, or 4 years with this performance. Recruiting classes from 2018-2021 were ranked 37, 34, 25 and 34. Stoops has done less with less, but a legitimate question about his ability to recruit exists. He's a good guy, not just the right guy.

Convince me he builds something here. We all know he can call plays and elevate the O - what's the culture like at his programmes? What's the recruiting, evaluation and development like?Lane won C-USA 2 out of the 3 years he was at FAU. In 2011, USC won the Pac12 South (went 10-2 with 51 scholarship players) but couldn't play due to ncaa sanctions. Would they have beaten Oregon for the second time in the Pac12 championship game? Hard to say but they were ranked #18 and beat #4 Oregon 38-35 at Autzen in the regular season.
This season is an interesting comparison. According to ESPN, Ole Miss is rated higher (13) in the FPI index than Oregon (19). Even though they are 8-2, they have played the 12th most difficult schedule in cfb, compared to Oregon having the 29th hardest schedule. Ole Miss is also higher in overall efficiency rating. Granted, Oregon may make the playoffs but Kiffin has arguably done a better coaching job given the schedule to this point.
