Agreed. My rebuttal to myself is Manny is implementing several things this program has not seem since Butch Davis: competition, passion, commitment to winning, hard work, embracing the Miami culture, etc. Coker, Randy and Golden didn’t have any of this. We’ll see if Diaz is really more like Tony Montana or a politician.

Have to agree with this, at least we have some tangible evidence considering how he turned the defense around so we do/should have confidence he can do that for the whole team. I like Most of the decisions he’s made for sure so far

I’ll say this, my old man just met his dad, Manny Diaz Sr., and asked him, “how does it feel to be the father of the most popular guy in Miami?” He responded with “Great! Now all we need to do is win.” So they’re in agreement.
 
Notice that the article mentions how Martell's accuracy dramatically improved with just a little coaching. As I mentioned when the "superfans" were saying he was a bust because he didn't perform well a week after arriving- if a QB hasn't taken a snap under center his whole life, his timing, rhythm and mechanics are going to be out of whack and he will be all over the place with the ball. Now he is settling in, and in the last scrimmage he was the only QB who moved the ball on the 1st team defense. He's going to be the starter against Florida.

He will start against Florida. Kid has too much swag to be put on the bench. Perry will freeze in the bright lights and Williams first start is not going to be against Florida. Martell gives us a running ability if the offense starts to sputter. I’m willing to put my money on him starting game 1.

No it won't!! Jimmy came in here with the same attitude and energy! And look how his tinier turned out!! Jimmy said now he has the big stick to kick *** once he got this job!! But he lost some games early!!

All the Gators game will do is give Manny a good gauge of where his Canes team is at as far as developing his plan!! The man doesn't have a one game plan!! And I bet this team won't lay down and play dead!! We were dead out the gate due to a tired man at the top that his guys emulated!
Now we have a coach full of energy, bold and has a confident attitude and it will be contagious!! This team will feel that they too can kick everyones *** just because the man at the top is thinking the same way!!

I don't know about epic crash and burn. It's not like we've been on top of the college football world recently to be afraid of crashing down. We've been down for so long I don't see us being much worse by whatever Manny would do. Huge upside yes. Worrying about crash and burn? We've been through that already!
