I think it’s pretty embarrassing for Butch Davis that he lost to Rick Neuihesel of all coaches with the talent of the 2000 team.

Kenny Dorsey played scared that day and I still have nightmares about effing Larry Triplett but your point still stands- a better gameday coach than Botch and we win that game even in that road environment with a young QB.

Another point with these up tempo spread systems, and especially with FSU’s OL situation, is if you’re getting TFLs it throws the whole system off. The rhythm is gone and it it looks baaaaad. See FSU last year.

I think Briles is better than Taggart but if Blackmon is getting Garvin’d every other play it doesn’t matter what offense you’re running, it won’t be successful. Briles system would make that bad situation worse from the perspective of the whole team (3 and outs, gassed defense, etc).

Is there an offensive system that does well if the defense is getting tackles for loss?

And sure, if an offense is constantly going 3 and out, it hurts the defense. Probably especially true for an uptempo offense. But the point is an uptempo offense is how you don’t constantly go 3 and out.

Enos has clout being associated with bama record setting offense and his history developing qbs. I know he ran arky offense but with what Diaz has stated I think we see more bama than arky blend. As smart as Enos has been described and how he talks in interviews it would be foolish to say hey I was just part of record breaking offense, lemme not run that..

I dont think most are understanding what hes saying. Both those schools base is spread. Easiest way to look at both situations is there is zero playbook accountability. The wr,te,rb all have the job of simply getting out into space inside of their zone. So the qb has zero read before the snap on of the ball and no clue where his recievers will be at any given moment. So if the defense can match up with the skill positions it leaves the qb with his joint in his hands
