Need for Diversity on Both Sides

Diversity hire isn't going to compete with kids who take bags. The bags were chosen for a reason not related to diversity or emotions. Money is far more relatable to those kids.

Lol here come all the White "we don't need anymore blacks" people.

There are far more white assistants than black, yet year after year 50% or more of the top recruiters are black coaches.

We need good coaches not just good recruiters. There's the selling and then the actual product. What good is the selling if your product stinks?

Sure because guys like Howard, Jimmy, and Butch could relate to the pork and beans projects of Miami.
It's not that our current coaches can't relate to these kids..It's whether they are straight up (being honest) with them.that's how Jimmy and butch have always been with any recruit.these kids aren't stupid sure they want to win but they also want to go where they can get better.all they see here is players never getting better and seem to regress.until we get good coaches who can recruit and develope players we will continue to have trouble getting the type of players we use to get.

LoL, dont sleep on jimmy, that man grew up in port authur, TX, he's already answered the question of relating. On butch, lol, that man grew up in Oklahoma, if you know anything about Oklahoma and the boys from out their, they are almost just as confident than a real Miami team, the coaches that come from that state are use to dealing with goons, which is why barry switzer had no problems relating either. In fact almost any coach from Oklahoma, would thrive at UM, cause they normally are not punks.

Its like now, how people are crying and complaining about antonio brown, just shows you how soft this country has become, a player like antonio brown would thrive under jimmy johnson or butch davis just like he thrived under coach tomlin. Wouldnt be that big of a deal, just the media sensationalizing everything these days, got to many talking heads, so they make it a point to talk about everything. If a headcoach or coach cant handle a guy like a.b. i wouldnt want him as a headcoach, in fact a.b. would've thrived under coach richt, as long as he didnt quit like jt4 did coach richt would deal with em all day long, but quitters wont be tolerated.

I miss the days of real headcoaches, not we got alot of phaggotry running rampant in to many coaching circles, im from the who gives a ***** tree, alot of this **** not even news. They warp peoples minds, they act like a.b. called the police on himself, the real people know what's going on, that girl was trying to be all cool with em to get the money, but now that that's out, she just resorting back to her whiteness trying to use that to get at a.b., that man not worried about wtf people think about him, he just cursed her out a lil bit, but no physical assault, so why does all those police keep showing up over there like a.b. is a criminal, im glad he cussed they *** out, and rightfully so, they coming over there trying to help her steal, and it wasnt happening, lol.

When I look back at the 2020 class and if landing top SOFL recruits is a priority it's easy to see Eric Hickson did a great job with Chaney and Knighton who no one here though he was capable of. His connections and understanding SOFL IMO made this possible. I'll be one of the first to say Rumph missed too many top local DB's over the years (more of an UM issue than him IMO), but does the best job recovering with some really good DB's. This year is another example. This to me says we need, like so many SOFL insiders tells us, is we need guys who can recruit and relate to SOFL athletes because we can;t match the on field results and $$$ the Big Boys have.

Listen, the key to winning at Miami has more to do with mindset, we havent been recruiting enuff of the right mindset type of Miami players to UM, just alot of enuff of the "nice respectable" media liked guys, wheras, we need more travis homers on the team mindsets, all he does is go one speed, and that's 100, if we had a team full of guys with homer's work ethic, berrios, deejay dallas and the likes, those are the type of real Miami leaders we have to get back to, the media didnt like travis, cause travis could careless about stupid questions. ****'s running round like bytches always worried about optics!

You just need good coaches and recruiters, period. I hate when people try to pigeonhole what breakdown it has to be to find the right fit.

It doesn't matter where you came from or what color skin you have. It matters what type of person you are and if you're able to relate to individual people. Not all SoFla kids are the same. Not all NFL coaches are from SoFla....and they seem to do just fine.

I don't think anyone is saying we go Willie Taggart or that there is a hard number on what the breakdown should look like. I do feel you never want to go too far one way or another. Getting the best coaches is the #1 priority regardless of race but you do want have some diversity and be able to connect with your players and recruiting base. Its just common sense

Gotta say for all the $$$ she made as a lawyer I give her credit for her 1 million dollar donation to the U (law school) and her diversity initiative.
Yeah, I am not anti-diversity man, I love that fact that I was born and raised in Chicago. Though it can be racist as all get out, it allowed me to interact and appreciate all types and perspectives. I just won’t miss taking a shot at her.

Jimmy can relate to anyone. Port Arthur may not be 15th ave, but he came from humble beginnings and knows people.
