ND v FSU game thread

I hate to say this but Florida State looked pretty good tonight. I thought there run game was strong and their defense was pretty good. Definitely improved from last season. At the moment, I definitely think we should have a problem against these clowns
 
Not sure why all the corching comments about the pre-kick review. The refs clearly blew the whistle to stop play nearly second before the kick, and the only players who seemed to miss it were the center, holder, and kicker. Everyone else stood up and looked around. And the kick looked like a miss but hooked it’s way in.

Wouldn‘t you want to review a play you think could reduce a long FG by 12 yards?

Imagine if we didn’t call for a review we could win, and the kicker missed 50-yard FG. The only criticism is not calling for the review a little faster.

But F-FSU though, and F-ND while we’re at it.

What game did you watch?

Jack Coan who was too much of a game manager for even Wisconsin that he lost his job threw for 366 yds and 4 TDs.

Fspoo run game looked good. Lame couldn’t make them pay often enough although coan had a good stat line. Their DC was wildly unimpressive

No. You know the review is going to take time. You are icing the **** out of your kicker, who has the leg to hit it from 50, and you’re doing it without a guarantee that the call is reversed.

We’ll just disagree here.

The issue to me was the time it took to call for a review. 20 seconds or longer lapsed getting the offense off the field and the field goal unit lined up. There should have been someone in the booth calling down for the review within seconds of the refs acted like the ball was fumbled. That was the problem. They ended waiting until the kicking teams were lined up and about to kick.

Maybe you can argue the HC should have chosen to not challenge, reasoning it’s too late. The difference between a 37-yarder vs 50-yarder is substantial, though.

Facts.

FSU gave up 38 points and 395 yards through less that 3 qtrs. The dumbass DC for ND then goes to 3 man line that let FSU go 15 plays and score a TD. The ND team then puckered up and played scared for the entire 4th qtr.

I will give credit for FSU not giving up. In prior years they would've folded.

Let's see how this FSU team does when they have to go on the road and not have a rocking stadium behind them on the night they honor Bowden.
 
Ill give credit to FSU tonight and I believe as if right now a lot of that was played off the emotion of the night. Is FSU better? Hard to say... I saw a lot of the same plays and mistakes last night from last season. Norvell made some questionable decisions. Their offense still cant block and a lot of broken plays but they took what ND gave them and made it work

Notre Dame finally showed their strength went up 18 and then took their foot off the gas.

I hate pre season rankings but ND as of now is not the #9 team in the country IMO... they lost a lot from last season and it showed at various points throughout the night.

If ND loses 3 or 4 games this season then this was more on them than FSU.
