Logic is Botch hired Black Santa who then went rogue catching UNC some heat and suspensions from his actions. If that isn't a failure to monitor, I don't know what is. I'm not sure why one was slapped with the charge and the other wasn't, but I'd guess it was due to Kelly already being gone while Butch was there fully cooperating.

If all I told you was that one coach received an 18 month show cause from the NCAA and the other coach was fired, but cleared by the NCAA, which one is worse? In the world of facts, the one the NCAA actually penalized is worse. You can say anything you want about bagmen and black santa, but in the end, the NCAA cleared one and not the other.

At this point, the discussion is not even about a Butch vs Chip Kelly discussion. Remove the names and look at the facts. I would love to have Chip here, but Archer is correct that if Butch were not receiving consideration due to the NCAA investigation, then how would Chip? If it's merit based, then fine, but you can't eliminate one and not the other based on NCAA investigations.
