NCAA Meets with Ruiz to discuss NIL deals

Yes. It’s just the way it is. Yet you STILL, after all these ******* years, after KNOWING the microscope we are and ALWAYS will be under, you still have the god**** mental midgets on here who think it’s “cool” for Ruiz to blast his business to anyone who will listen.

Maybe something comes of this, maybe it doesn’t. But it’s just all so goddamned unnecessary.
It's Miami. Of course its necessary!!!!

Look, I'm not just responding to you. I'm not mad at you personally.

But can ANY of these "John Ruiz is going to sue the **** out of everyone" bros explain:

A. What the NCAA is going to do to Ruiz personally
B. How ANY booster has EVER had standing to countersue the NCAA when the NCAA penalizes a UNIVERSITY for something a booster has done
C. On what basis anyone thinks that John Ruiz has any lawsuit claim against the NCAA

To date, the NCAA has not publicly said anything against John Ruiz or LifeWallet, though plenty of journalists and fake-journalists have done so. In the past, outside of state criminal charges, the NCAA has never reallly taken any actions against a booster, personally, outside of requiring a university to disassociate itself from a booster who has committed violations. And for decades, the NCAA has actually punished UNIVERSITIES for the actions of boosters, not the boosters themselves.

So I have NO IDEA what the Ruiz For Life Bros think is going to happen here. How they think John Ruiz is going to sue the NCAA when the NCAA hasn't done anything to him, and likely will do nothing to him. The NCAA is entitled to make rules. You can't just walk into a court and say "I don't like this governing body's rules, and even though I am not a coach or player or administrator, I am going to sue to enjoin these new rules."

Yeah, it's just not happening. I'm not sure where this mythical Ruiz v. NCAA lawsuit myth was invented.
Tortious interference with his business.

The pak deal stands out as potentially problematic other than that seems to me doing things right.
Depends on the NIL wording. Ruiz could claim the deal was there regardless of the school. I’m guessing the language is very clear in the contract. Of course it’s obvious what happened, but you probably can’t prove it.

It won't work this time.

If they somehow try and bust Miami for anything related to this, given everything that's going on at any other school, I would imagine that will be the last thing the NCAA will ever do. We're well past the point of, "Oh no, we got caught, I hope they don't take scholarships", and well into, "if you make any sort of move we'll burn this f***ing place to the ground".

Coaches in the SEC literally ratting on each other and they're gonna come to Miami? And Sports Illustrated is gonna write a f***ing story about us? There's no denying anymore what the NCAA is, if there ever was, and who they actually work for.

If Miami let's the NCAA do anything to them they're fools. They should scorch the 100 yards of Earth between the NCAA and the good ol boys.

Go to war.

So humor me; when I stated how I didn’t like our NIL deals being put on blast & that we need to move in silence, was I touching an area of concern now that things r coming to fruition?
If it's all above board it doesn't matter how public he is.
If it isn't above board, it wouldn't matter how silent he was because the NCAA would still target us if we were taking top recruits from SEC schools.

So really all that matters is that we are operating completely legally.

It absolutely matters how public he is b/c we’re not like other schools. But that wasn’t my point, which is y I directed my ? to Cribby’s QP

Some things to consider here
1. John Ruiz is a savvy businessman and lawyer.
2. Whether Mario cooled on Rashada or we were out recruited (I don't believe this), the perception is negative towards Miami. If an SEC school dropped bags outside of NIL to entice Jaden to commit and we could not, then Ruiz is likely not happy about that. See also Shemar Stewart. Our collective group of decision makers isn't going to let that continue. I'm sure this is something we would like to clear up with the NCAA before signing day.
3. The perception may be that the NCAA was snooping around, but I believe John Ruiz was in control of the entire thing from the beginning. He may have even thrown the NCAA a bone while he brought up his concerns. This also ironically takes a little heat off of the staff for not securing Rashada.
4. We have an amazing staff that also includes Dan and Zo. These guys are not stupid. They will position themselves for success.
5. Mario knows how recruiting works. Let's not forget Mario knows things. Himself and Dan aren't going to let their hands be tied behind their backs. John Ruiz is the perfect tool to have to make sure that doesn't happen.

Like ok at the timing. Also, look at the statement sent out out by the ncaa saying that their legal team better enforce their laws or else find another job.
The whole inquiry thing is sketchy af especially considering they’re first stop.

Also, I posted a few weeks ago that they really don’t have to find anything at all. They just have to send out statements about how they’re investigating Miami and spread rumors about some sanctions that are heavy and are currently continuing investigations into made up allegations. Just like the Shapiro scandal.
Now your gonna have Mario recruiting with this cloud over his head while other schools tell kids “I know people in the ncaa and let me tell you that you don’t want to be part of what’s coming”.
In other words they don’t have to be looking for anything or finding anything. They just cast a cloud of guilt. And they can do that for a very long time like they did before for 3 years
