NCAA makes 2 year roster waiver permenant.

I like the rule change eliminating the 25 per class rule. I always thought it was dumb, even before the Portal.

You're capped at 85. How you get there should not be an issue.

As is usual with "newer" rules, the 25-limit came after certain SEC teams were wayyyy oversigning.

Even the "no IC limits any longer" rule was obliterated when Coach SlimeTime signed 71 new guys.

I have no idea what elaborate loopholes will be exploited in the future, I just know it will happen...and then new rules will probably be made.

I'm sure there's some other tedious rules you can dig your teeth into.

Not a fan of unlimited signings. Should increase it but put a cap. Going to see a lot of players getting "cut" to get enough scholarships. School signs 35 players and over 85..... kids going to get there scholarship pulled or cut players currently on the team?

If kids can just transfer whenever they want, why shouldn't the coaches be able to cut underperforming players? At the end of the day, their job is to win games. Playing nice and keeping kids who aren't contributing on the roster isn't going to save their job.

@Stevo365
Is this making it tough for High School kids going forward? Seems like a big shift in how teams will recruit with 1000+ older kids in the portal every year.

The NCAA just killed high school recruiting for the 2nd tier players (ie not top 1000 kids nationally). Those non super kids have nooooo chance now.

Now fix the stupid *** 11.5 scholly limit for baseball just before you are completely irrelevant please.
Exactly. This doesn't get enough attention and is a big problem for us. Lots of partial scholarships in baseball and 1/2 a ride at Miami will still cost you more than no scholarship ar UF or FSU.

I’m mixed on a coach being able to cut a player , I think they should be able to cut them from the team but the player should still be allowed to go to that school on a scholarship type thing .

We have an elite recruiter at Miami. Any rule changes that make recruiting a more important part of the game is a competitive advantage for us.

This rule change is good for Miami.

U can pull a Deion and root out the whole thing in 1 cycle lol. Im sorry but i like it. U can think a team suck last season and assume they are not good the next season until they are 6-0 and smoking everyone
