Any football purist will tell u coaching, structure, infrastructure matters and it absolutely has a profound effect on the field of play, no matter how many Top247 players u have on the field.

Some of ya’ll think CFB or sports in general is like pick up ball or video games. Yes players matters, but if these young men & women r walking into a **** poor environment, the product on the field, diamond, court etc will reflect as much, & so will their talents.

Lmao you can’t say UM caliber is two of the best players we’ve ever had in our history when there’s been thousands of guys who have walked through these doors and only about 50-60 all time have been named all Americans 🤦🏾‍♂️. UM caliber is whoever UM recruits lol. Right now UM caliber is not that great.

Again, so many factors go into what a player becomes — initially over-rated or not properly evaluated, coaching & coaching changes, system & consistency within a system, injuries, mental toughness, off-field issues & influences.

Just don’t buy the idea we’re running a country club. Easy trashing kids on a message board while kids bust *** in season & off season.

C’mon man I don’t say all the players do, but it’s well documented that many coasted. I listed the factors that cause players to not be great. But these same players, many of them Saban and the other blue bloods wanted so how could they all be bad evals. It’s all those things you mentioned and I have already mentioned them too, but on this post you replied to I was just saying it’s also on the players as well. You jumped on this post that’s part of a long conversation lol

Lou Saban vs Schnelly??....Cot **** @Rellyrell ....I'm old...but my heydays were Butch's days...pretty much same as BrooklynDee...A matter of fact, I can fondly remember many Hurricanes fielding @Brooklyndee punts as if it was yesterday...

It’s true, there’s several players that had absolutely no business donning The U on the side of their helmet; they absolutely should’ve been at a lower tiered P5 school or G5 program, BUT that doesn’t escape the fact we’ve been absolutely woeful as a entire program, which is y Herbstreit (w/ the prodding of Vilma) called us out.

Any athlete will tell u ultimately things falls upon them, but coaching, scheme, development plays an absolutely huge role in getting the absolute best out of a player. U can have an elite track athlete, & he’s aligned w/ a **** poor coach or strength team that doesn’t continue to optimize their gifts or expound it further, it will be all for not.

cfb is different, u need gas to play at this level and be elite. Your key word is true At MIRAMAR. Thats the problem this fanbase has. I'll repeat it, SFLA HS football (although great) still isnt CFB. Its a bigger jump IMO from HS to college than CFB to the NFL. I said back in 09 FSU wouls win a natty based off recruiting and dreadfully I became correct. I said UGA would win a natty while everyone laughed, i became correct. They won because of talent influx period. No one is going to change my mind. Deons ugly *** knows this too and is going to try and do it at CU. Are there busts? yes just like the NFL. Like Dionte Mullins said your probably not playing because u arent good. Athletes need to stop blaming coaches and look at themselves and be 100.

You guys are doing the same thing Dorito did in that recruiting room, but since its sfla guys you are protecting them to blame coaches. Tracy Howard doesnt translate to this level I dont care how amazing he was in HS. He has a speed problem that in HS u can get away with. In CFB or NFL he will get eaten alive.

Not sure if that's sarcasm or not. What I will say is it would've been similar. Barry would've took what made us great and banned it from the team IMMEDIATELY and Coker was the eventual death of our team because he lacked any of the common threads that kept us going. With Alvarez we would've remained good long term. But just that. He was alfraud minus no dnofritos...

True. I feel this year guys are more accountable. They’re holding themselves more accountable and so are these coaches! The talent is there minus a few spots right now. But it is enough to win the division

Listen, we’re all entitled to our opinions. If u’re disregarding coaching & infrastructure doesn’t play a significant role in development, then I don’t know what to tell u. U don’t realize u’re contradicting urself, though based upon ur first statement alone.

Man, I just don’t be getting some of these takes. No one is discounting the need for players, but to simply disregard our problems as an entire program, namely the **** poor coaching & development, I mean….I just don’t know.

It could either way, a surprise or a down year once more on our way to building depth for the following season.

I agree thats a part of the deal but the person in the body to me is more important than anything. Like Floyd could teach a kid to be Floyd but if he doesnt have the speed he cant be Floyd. Thats just how I go about it, I do get what your saying and yea thats part a piece of it but the players traits are the most important to me. His gifted traits. I do know our sh used to be buns I get that.
