My moms conversation with Shalala

Your mom has nothing to lose compared to Michael Irvin. You have no idea the kind of comments or suggestions Irvin makes to the AD or the Prez if they were to talk. Irvin doesn't want to say anything really bad about the program publicly, which is understandable.

Michael Irvin is a multimillionaire who works 16 days a year. He literally has nothing to lose.

1. She does not even give a **** anymore and whether she believes that statement or not she's just going to parrot it anyway.

2. I talked to a graduate student at Tufts. You better hope and pray to whatever upper level deity you believe in that Admiral Stavridis gets hired because the house cleaning, responsible accountability, and savage push for excellence in everything will be awe-inspiring.

Please enlighten us

Hope you are right. Want to see some fur fly at this university. No more mediocrity in ANYTHING, academic or athletic. Can't stand being tied with Jorts R Us and Ped U in academics and can't stand this disgusting, awful football. WE CAN HAVE BOTH! (Stanford, ND, UCLA, and USCw.)

This is his first year?? Clearly the old bag is senile. That 6-7 record has her confused. She thinks it's 2011.

If this is year 1, how come he's having a more difficult time recruiting than in the years under the "cloud?" Let me guess, it's the fans' fault. Year one is actually next year...

Except that his son is being recruited by the University of Miami.

Right. So it's in Irvin's best interest to keep the lame duck coaching staff around that's recruiting him, to the detriment of everyone else. Enemy of the state. He's gone full politician.

None of us have any idea what's really in Mike's head or what he's saying behind the scenes. Of course he's not going to blast the coaches or University that I would imagine he wants his son to attend.

Let me preface this by saying that I'm squarely in the Fire Al Golden camp, and that the "it's his first year" BS by Shanana sickens me. I'm just playing devil's advocate here with the following, attempting to step thru the logic:

OK. Let's take that "it's his first year" thing at face value. Let's say one believed that. Let's say that you also believe that the talent is here, in place right now, to win the ACC and compete on the national level. If these other teams that Golden coached thru "teh Cloud" didn't count, really, but were building towards THIS coming year (ahem...Golden's "first") being THE year we'll turn it all around as The Troll & Flake Lames would have us believe...

...then isn't the expectation and the floor, not ceiling, that we should win the ACC and go to a BCS bowl? And wouldn't anything less be an abject failure with all the working their tails off and going thru adversity that they cling on to? And then, given that bar--wouldn't another 6-7'ish year (if/when it happens) be enough to fire this dolt and his merry band of faqqots?

Or...alternatively, would this "leadership" talk about how this "first year" was to rebuild, and that the 2nd year...yeah...that's THE year.

I'm afraid of all of that, unless we get a no BS prez that won't take that **** anymore.

Dear God please...
