My Guess on How Teams Enticing SOFL players

I agree with OP on #3 ...
3. Miami's focus is not on football or the players, you cane see it, look at the facilities. We'll take care of you and we have the best facilities.

Utterly embarassing that a 5X NC has to play in an NFL stadium miles away from campus.

Might be a red herring, but can anybody name me one CFB team, that plays in an NFL stadium, that's won a NC?...just one?...zero?...THOUGHT SO!

Miami, Pittsburgh, USC (Raiders played in the Coliseum) Namely schools is metropolitan areas that have professional teams. Specifically areas that don't have huge, empty parcels of land to build 70,000 seat stadiums on.

Sure. Honest and objective based on what?

So you're saying that it's better at other campuses is a fact. Ok, chief, got it.

Thanks for straightening me out. I've seen the light.

I've got former players all over the country, including one that went to Miami. I can't even begin to list the schools that have a better college atmosphere, particularly when it pertains to football. The list is long.

Did you actually think that The University of Miami trumps the nation in everything? Are your orange & green glasses that dark?

There's being a fan...
Then there's being naive.

Facilities, women, game day atmosphere, etc...aren't the reason kids come to Miami anyway. Never has been the reason.

Also, I love living in South Florida. I have no interest in living anywhere else. Doesn't mean every single person feels the same way. Some people like city living, some people like the sticks.

OP asked why some recruits would rather go to school elsewhere. Whether you want to believe it or not, there's reasons besides "They pay players".

DTP...true that UM shared the OB with the Dolphins, but the OB was originally built for UM...ditto for USC.

And Pitt never shared a stadium with the Steelers when they won their NCs.

So to my recollection, a team playing in an NFL stadium, or, being a tenant of an NFL team, has never won a NC.

Touche' but the truth is there's not much of a sample size. How many teams actually share a stadium with a pro team? I think it's seven now? So the numbers just aren't there to make that argument. Especially since a majority of the national titles have been won by only a handful of teams. Miami playing in an NFL stadium is near the bottom of my concerns. It's not the stadium's fault the team's been bad. ****, they were **** poor the last few years in the Orange Bowl too.

So you're saying that it's better at other campuses is a fact.

At campuses with on campus stadiums?...yes.

But only you & your ilk think it's OK for a 5X NC not to have their own stadium.

And nobody's telling kids not to go to UM, nobody has to.

According to your logic, as much as Richt b!tches & gripes about the lack of an IPF, even He's telling kids not to go to UM...according to your logic.

So all these redneck rat hole cow towns need is an on-campus stadium, and that makes it a better place to go than UM. Makes sense.

No, I'm saying that's what a 5X NC should have. And trust me, I used to be in that "not having your own stadium doesn't make a difference" crowd, but it makes a difference.

Who are these players that you have personally all over the country. How many? What schools?
Since you brought it up.

By the way, where did I say that that UM trumps the nation in everything?

I'm just not the guy that goes on message boards to talk about how great everything else is anywhere but Miami.

Only dumb cūnts or rival trolls bring up the on-campus stadium fairy tale. Which one are you?

I love the myth that there's nothing to do in towns like G-Ville and Tally.

If you're a football player, there's several things to do...every night. They're called Becky, Lisa and Cindy.

Yeah we have South Beach and beautiful women, but that **** doesn't cater to a college athlete. What good is having gorgeous women when they're not even paying attention to you? What good is having tons of nightclubs when you can't even afford to enjoy them?

My man, as a guy who was born and raised in Miami and grew up in the areas that many of these recruits come from, I can tell you firsthand that if you have a moderate level of freedom as a teenager, you can see and do a lot more than most people your age in most other cities. Don't even get me started if basically raising yourself. Trust me, I went to college in Trailerhassee, and nothing blew me away about the nightlife. You have to make your own. Sure, you're up to your eyeballs in fine *** broads, but you're in a ****** one-horse hicktown that shuts down after 2am. I remember not knowing that as a freshman and not being able to get in the Moon because we got there at 1:30. Me and my homies were like WTF is this kiddie ****?!?! I had been going to the Mint & Rolexxx and able to buy booze outta liquor stores since I was a 15 year old 9th grader, so that was a major step back. When you come from lawless areas where you're able to do 18+ **** while in high school, you're not impressed by the college town nightlife unless you were restricted down here. The broads never get old but if you do like the club scene, once the newness wears off, they just turn into rinky-dink glorified teen clubs. You guys think our players ain't getting no *****?!?! You're outta your rabid *** minds. You guys act like SoBe is the only place you can get a prime piece of *** in South Florida. Most native Miamians & South Floridians(like most of the local guys on the roster) could give a **** about South Beach. I'm sure the local guys spend some time over there like most young college kids but they know it's tons of places on the mainland to turn up and pull chicks at as well. Towns like Hogtown and Tally can give you cabin fever, and it's easy to get bored and do some stupid ****...

Exactly... Currently I'm on the west coast... Its nice but my heart will always be in South Florida... Once I'm done over here I"m coming home because I love it more than anywhere else however everyone doesn't share the same sentiments. I love South Florida and the club scene isn't what's drawing me here... I know people who prefer Virginia over SoFla and I don't understand it but that's their preference... Miami isn't paradise to everyone to be honest it may not be the preferred area of residence for the majority of people in SoFla... Reality is some people want to get away... And we also have to realize that a lot of these recruits have relatives from the likes of Bama, GA, Miss& NC so its not surprising some opt for that route.

Makes no difference to the conversation WHO the kids are. I've got/had at least 11 kids (off the top of my head) who are/were at schools all across the country.

I just don't understand why some of you guys get so butt-hurt when someone says that another school edges Miami out in something. It's like you're in denial.
Who gives a **** if we're talking about it on a message board? You think the recruits are reading this board and saying to themselves "Ahh man now I ain't goin to Miami"?
Any kid that's seriously considering Miami probably isn't worried about this garbage anyway. He's most likely already visited other schools and seen firsthand how much better their campus/facilities/stadiums are. He doesn't need a message board to tell him the difference.

Miami football players ain't getting a fraction of the pu$$y that players at FSU, Bama, UF, GA, etc. Don't be in denial.

I'm with you on the nightlife comment cause I went through the same thing. I grew up down here too and I used to be pretty heavy into the nightlife stuff. When I visited my homeboys in G-Ville it obviously didn't compare to what I was used to down here. However, clubs might close at 2am but that doesn't mean people go home. I sure as **** didn't go home at 2am when I was in G-Ville.

The issue isn't which city has better nightlife, it's which city treats college football players better. Broads in Miami give 2 ****s about UM players. They got Dolphins players to chase after. I'm sure our kids bang some of the student body but nothing in comparison to the snatch that UF/FSU players bag.

Sure you can go to some local spots and bag chicks. ****, you don't need to play college football to do that. That's work though. When you're playing ball in a college town you don't have to work for it, it'll knock on your door. My homeboy played RB at sorry a$$ U-Conn and even he has some outrageous stories.

We sound silly right now debating about which city it's easier to get laid in. LOL. At the end of the day this is only a small piece to the puzzle. A small bonus. It really shouldn't make a difference in a kid's college decision.

Another reason for recruits not to come to Miami: you get more pušśy at other schools.

This thread has officially jumped the shark.
