Here are some quotes:

Quarte Sapp

"My top 5 will be released soon, and Miami will be in there," Sapp said. "I like it there - I went down there for the spring game and got to enjoy the whole experience and met the whole staff, talked to coach (Al) Golden. I like what they're doing. Even though coach (Micheal) Barrow stepped down I like them a lot."

Sapp says he hopes to reach a final decision "really soon," but then clarifies that means "probably in a month or two."

Daniel Fennell

He says he's narrowed things to a top seven: UM, Georgia Tech, Duke, Missouri, Michigan State, Texas A&M and Louisville.

"Miami made it because I think they're going to be real good and I have a real good relationship with their coaches and I just like them as a team," Fennell said. "I want to take a visit there, I'm not sure when yet. We haven't discussed that. But it'll probably be in November."

Russell Ude

Atlanta (GA) Westminster High School DE Russell Ude says four schools are standing out to him most right now: Miami, Cal, Oregon, UCLA.

"And Missouri might get in there pretty soon too," he said.

Ude says he "might just go ahead and commit soon" if he is sure of what he wants, but adds that regardless he'll take all his official visits.

And he's set up his Cane visit for the UM-FSU game.

Khaylan Thomas

But he says the Canes are competing with five other schools for his official visits - the others in his top six are LSU, Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State and Oklahoma.

"I talk to coach Jethro because Barrow left, and coach Jethro is really cool," Thomas said. "He talks to me a lot, keeps me updated, informed me of a lot of stuff. He says I fit their program well, that they want me there."

Maybe. Or maybe you're an *******? I don't know either way.

Alpharetta (GA) Milton High School LB Quarte Sapp says the Hurricanes are "definitely" in it with him.

"I've talked to literally everyone on the coaching staff there almost every day," Sapp said. "A handful of schools are recruiting me that hard, seven are pushing really hard for me but not all seven are in it."

Miami's one that is, though.

"My top 5 will be released soon, and Miami will be in there," Sapp said. Sapp says he hopes to reach a final decision "really soon," but then clarifies that means "probably in a month or two."

He expects to set up a UM official visit date that will have him on campus at some point during the season.

Sapp says what he wants in a college program is "they have to be competitive and have good academics."

So what does he see ahead for the Canes?

"They can be really good," Sapp said. "Their defense has been doing really good. Even though they lost to Louisville their defense was good. And coaches on the staff have experience and they teach really well. They have a lot of potential."

Sapp's team is off to a 2-0 start that included a 26-0 win over two-time state champion Norcross on Friday. Sapp had 10 tackles and two interceptions (one returned for a TD) in that game.

Etiwanda (Calif.) High School LB Khaylan Thomas says "I'm still considering Miami."

But he says the Canes are competing with five other schools for his official visits - the others in his top six are LSU, Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State and Oklahoma.

Of those he's already taken an official visit to Oregon State and will visit Arizona State the second week of December.

He says Arizona and Arizona State are ahead of the rest of the pack.

So what do the Canes need to do to move up his list?

"I just have to learn more about the program as a whole, see that I can really fit in for their schemes, on the field," Thomas said.

He was recruited by coach Micheal Barrow but now is hearing from Jethro Franklin.

"I talk to coach Jethro because Barrow left, and coach Jethro is really cool," Thomas said. "He talks to me a lot, keeps me updated, informed me of a lot of stuff. He says I fit their program well, that they want me there."

Loganville (GA) Grayson High School LB Daniel Fennell says "I'm looking at Miami pretty strongly."

Fennell says he talks with Cane coaches "all the time."

"They tell me stuff about Miami, ask how I'm doing, talk about how they're doing," Fennell said, adding that "I plan to narrow it down during the course of the season after I take my visits, will narrow it down based on what I see."

So when will he have a final decision?

"I don't have a date, but I don't want to wait the whole time till signing day," Fennell said. "I would like to commit sooner than that. But I'm not going to force anything and rush it."

Fennell, who lists 21 scholarship offers, says he doesn't want to wait late to decide "because spots are filling up and coaches say they need to know what I'm doing so they can fill their spots."

"Coach (Jethro) Franklin is recruiting me to Miami and I've talked to coach (Al) Golden and coach (Mark) D'Onofrio," Ude said. "They tell me it's a great spot for me, that they want me a lot, I'm a high priority, that I can come in and play immediately, that I'm the type of guy they want to be recruiting. They want me to play a hybrid defensive end role for them like what Al-Quadin Muhammad does."

Ude adds of UM that "they have great history, produced a lot of NFL players. They have great academics and it's a great location."

Here is a new one you didn't request 2jamaicanecane

Gardena (CA) Junipero Serra High School five-star DE Rasheem Green doesn't beat around the bush when it comes to the Miami Hurricanes.

"Miami, they're a top school for me," Green said. "I like them a lot."

Green says he's impressed by what coach Jethro Franklin has told him about the program, and the two have built a strong bond.

"We talk at least four times a week," Green said. "I think he's a great coach, a cool person. He talks about the tradition there, how good a chance I have to play early, that I fit well in the defense."

Green says he knows of three official visits he'll take as of now: Miami, Oregon and Stanford.

"I'm not sure when I'll take the visits yet," he said.

He's already visited Oregon and Stanford unofficially - he's also taken unofficials to USC and UCLA, schools that all remain under consideration along with Vanderbilt, Notre Dame and Alabama.

"Those are the schools I really talk to the most," Green said, adding that "no one" is ahead right now of those eight.

When will he narrow things down further?

"Toward the end of my season," Green said, adding that "I'm making a decision in January - I'm thinking about doing it at the Army game, but if not there then soon after."

He plans to visit UM before announcing - the closest he's come to the area in the past was a trip to Disney World.

Of what he wants in a college program, Green said, "the academic program there has to be good, the student-athlete life and the football there."

Alpharetta (GA) Milton High School LB Quarte Sapp says the Hurricanes are "definitely" in it with him.

I was at the Milton v Norcross game a couple of weeks ago, Milton is my kid's school. Sapp looks like a heck of an athlete, good in coverage and in on a bunch of tackles. His return for TD on the INT was very impressive, he leapt over the a last tackler at about the 3 and flew into the endzone.
