Really looking forward to how our pass rush will look like in a couple years. Muhammed, to me, is exactly what D'Onofrio is looking for. Strong at the point of attack, relentless and can rush off the edge as well. Imagine staring at a combination of these players down the road: Hoilett, McCord, Muhammed, Williams, Chad Thomas, etc. Add in a versatile OLB like Thomas who also possesses great pass-rushing potential off the edge...

If only D'no woulda rushed him...

Golden wasnt the greatest recruiter but he left the cupboard in better shape then Coker did for Shannon. I would say it is on par to what Shannon left him maybe?...no reason we shouldnt win 9-10 games this year with the core talent on the roster.

And yes some of this is **** funny. I finally think AQM will realize his potential and start to look like a true "UM" Defensive end.

Nah, definitely better...Outside of the seniors Golden inherited (many who were suspended througout the year), Shannon left behind a Sun Belt defense in those soph and junior classes. Gaines, Cain, D. Smith, Highsmith, Rogers, Cornelius, etc...etc...JUST AWFUL. Sun Belt is not an exaggeration or for shock value either

Naw he left Al enough talent they were just misused. It wasn't Sun Belt that's an exaggeration. And D. Smith was Al's recruit. Besides Kaaya I don't think the team is in better shape at all. Talent has definitely regressed but Richt will turn it around just like Harbaugh at U-M.

Nah, you're wrong...Meant to say Lewis instead of D.Smith. D.Smith was a half *** attempt to get a late run stuffer in the rotation. There was NOTHING on defense in year 2 of the Golden regime...Look at those players I named. They were all starters or first off bench= SUN BELT. It is definitely in better shape talent wise, although it has a ways to go.

And you are right def not sticking up for the scheme, who could? There was a couple game breakers on offense, but simply nothing on the defensive side of the ball other than Spence, Vernon, Armstrong in that senior class...And they were all suspended from 2-6 games in the first year. Nothing in those soph and junior classes AT ALL defensively.

Richt has holes, but is in better shape than Golden was.

There is an argument to be had. But ill be damned to ever argue in defense of Al. LOL.

(I will say this..our "quality" Dline depth is the best its been in YEARS..Def since the Shannon era..maybe the tail end of the Coker era (2005ish).. Its so good Richt is only taking 1 DT in this class. (JFord) Who would have predicted that 2 years ago?)

I don't know. Gaines has been in the league for a couple years. I just feel that if he is in the league for that type of stint then he could of been better here if used properly. Cain I always liked. I was one of the few. I remember he started in for CMac as a true freshman and was a beast against Duke in 2010. He had like 10 tackles and a few turnovers. Al comes in and moves him all over the place. The kid could play. The class had a lot of hidden gems but a lot of them could play if utilized properly. I felt Al had young talent but he squandered it all. I don't see how Richt is better than Al with the exception of qb and even then Al inherited the number 2 and 3 passer in school history. The dline hasn't shown anything to say they'll give Richt a strong year 1. Grace is the only linebacker after that the other backers are Richts recruits. In the secondary we're currently talking to a reserve transfer for help. Thats not a better situation. Remember the kids who declared early had years of eligibility to return they just didn't trust Al.

Is it because our dline is that good or they do not view many prospects out there as being talented enough to contribute here in 2017?
