Am so tempted to send a suggestion to this woman. After all, my nominee lives in Orlando, is beloved by everyone he meets, is world famous, has appeared in movies and on TV and gets along well with children. To head up this Mickey Mouse operation of a "university", why not MICKEY himself?

Seriously, TRUST ME, this school's pick won't be anyone worth a ****.

There likely isn't a legitimate connection. It was most likely a case of someone who knows neither guy claiming they're regular pals on a message board. Then, it got repeated a few times and became message board fact.

Why would anyone think he knows how to run a law school?

They're hoping it'll be similar to Shalala holding the Secretary of Health and Human Resources position while not having actually having a medical school connection.

As you stated Tufts doesn't even have a law school. Seems odd to hire this guy because you hope he can take your law school to new heights. Not a lawyer and never worked at a law school. I am certainly no expert. I recognize that he wouldn't be running the law school.

Not in the spring. This will be a wasted season.

A god**** shame that an entire season of eligibility will be thrown away knowing our administration was too incompetent to do what needed to be done in December.

The line of thinking is that he at least has an expertise in law itself but not law school. He would be able to bring some great credibility to the Miami law school and pull rising academics to it as well similar to the way Shalala did with the medical school except she also threw fistfuls of money into the medical school and fundraised at an ungodly level to make it happen. She hadn't run a medical school or even really been associated with one even dating back to when she was at Wisconsin but she had experience as the HHR Secretary and Stavridis has experience at a bastion of legal thought, just not a law school.

Furthermore, he's very popular with the students and it's hoped he'll bring some right-wing money and academics to the undergrad portion of the school.

James on the other hand has no such guarantee. Could very well see the new President wanting a new AD.
