can only pray that he is an Admiral still that demands excellence and not some politically correct executive that only sees the bottom line
 
This site has some good reporters. It would be nice if one could run the guy down and push him on where he stands on Golden's replacement. We might want to start screaming for his head before he gets here if he thinks Al should e kept.

wont get my hopes up. some lifetime military can be institutionalized as far as not bucking the chain of command.

This was actually Reynolds Wrap's only "scoop" in years. Everyone else laying claim to this name is as fraudulent as people saying "The Admiral" is Butch's first cousin and BFF. That said, efff Fat Timmy so go ahead and lay claim to being "insiders".

I know a few people who attended his deal at Storer last year who were very impressed. From all accounts, this would be a coup....what bothers me a bit?

From Time Magazine last year quoting the Admiral:

"I’ve also reached out to mentors in this industry, from Robert Gates, former President of Texas A&M, to Jack DeGioia of Georgetown, to Donna Shalala at the University of Miami, and many others."

He is VERY academic obviously, which is great....I just hope competing at the highest level of EVERYTHING isn't lost on him as it was with a certain "mentor"

I would also love to know what his connection to Butch is.....

He has not been voted down yet and he is the frontrunner due to people believing he can do with the law school what Shalala did with the medical school.

As far as Shalala being one of his mentors, from 2006-2009 the Admiral was stationed in Miami commander of U. S. Southern Command and during that time he frequented Miami as some advisor role where she showed him how the school was run academically.

His connection with Butch is that from 1995-1998 the Admiral and his family were large enough supporters that they got to meet Butch often and they were big supporters from the jump. Since Butch moved to Bonita Beach, he has maintained a positive relationship with the family. They are not, however, best friends.

I was also told there may be a preexisting relationship from when Butch was an assistant to Jimmy but I can't confirm that.
