What he rush for here?
2500+ for his career. Jr yr was 1200 when he became full time starter. 5.7 ypc and 23 total TDs.
What he rush for here?
Leon Searcy
I think while he was here, Reggie Wayne. I don’t think it was until his NFL career where he really started getting his due. He was always a bit in Santana’s shadow.
I’ll put Bubba Franks up there too. He gets a little lost in the mix of great TEs.
Good name to raise but just for background, he was 3rd team AA (AP), second team on UPI. Mira Jr. also made 3rd team AA IIRC.Jay Brophy has to be on this list...All we hear at LBer at UM is Morgan...Ray Lewis...Barrow etc...(and rightfully so) But....Brophy could thump with the Best of them...was UMs ONLY 1st team AA on the 83 NC team....Absolute Stud...and had a fine NFL career...
Smith had a 12 year nfl career. He was amazing. He was also a 2x AA IIRC, whereas Barrow was only 1x iirc. But Barrow’s senior year did overshadow Smith’s.Absolutely — my argument is Morgan and Smith were both overshadowed for their college accomplishments by other canes linebackers who had longer pro careers
Love this one. He started the WR U IMOEddie Brown
He was an almost guy. Played on bad teams and didn’t really leave a mark in college then injuries cut short his pro career. Don’t think he’s under appreciated so much as he didn’t quite do what we al think he could have done, mostly bad luck.McCarthy is another guy who doesn’t get his just due. I think he’s another guy b/c his NFL career was cut short, gets forgotten as a Canes star.
That last name on the list. He was fun to watch. Also think McNeil and u and another poster said is a good one tooMaurice Crum, Ryan McNeil, CJ Richardson, James Lewis, Leonard Conley
