Most talented ACC teams

this has been on the back of my mind for quite some time now, I do wonder how those conversations have changed lately.

THAT BEING SAID, LOL @ fsu getting their **** annihilated by a team with just a couple 4 stars on it. Proof of corching on full display and they got themselves a super corch.
Wake would beat us by at least 4 TDs

get a grip, Wake has a good team because their players want to be great and they want to win. **** your paper stars

Dumb stats.

Talent doesn't mean **** if you're down two running backs, down your best two receivers (and lost your best two from last year to graduation).

What good is a talented quarterback and solid offensive line play if nobody can catch the ball—and wideouts can't get open against third string defensive backs at aTm.

You also have Miami's third head coach in five seasons, which doesn't do much for culture or consistency.
What do you mean ?
Out lack of talent is why we have no depth to overcome injuries
The only line that matters though is that 5 star line
Clemson has more than double the whole conf
That’s why they are who they are

A truly shocking revelation.
What's funny to me is we haven't produced a star WR in the NFL since Andre Johnson who played here 20 years ago and the last 1000 yard running back was Lamar Miller who played here over 10 years ago.

Yet people still believe these recruiting rankings?

Doing less with more since the mid 2000's. It's a Canes Thing. God, I remember when that used to mean something else. No excuses, do better Mario and company.

LOL

Lot of teams "want to win" when they play Bama, UGA, Taint, etc.

Problem is, those teams recruit a ********ton of elite athletes, and have sustained programs in place with excellent coaches.

We don't have enough of the former (yet) and we're just getting started on the latter.

Let's do something weird and give it more than 4 games with a guy who has seen it done on every single level, and has done it as a head man. New season starts Saturday. Let's get the job done.

I'll tell you what I believe.

Most of our recruits could've gone to schools that do produce and win. Some could've played on any team in the land, Bama, OSU, you name it.

The rankings aren't the problem. It's been coaching, development, team building, culture, and execution. We became a place where coaches learn to be head coaches for the first time. We've made many mistakes in that department.

We don't get a rankings bump because we're known as having some eye for talent diamond in the rough types. Everyone believes to some degree that we keep getting talent. National to local guys, we get talent. Maybe not top 5 or top 10 talent but certainly top 25 talent. From camps, games, to tournaments we've had guys do things against other schools kids that show they can play. They get here.........

Rankings aren't the problem. They work largely for other schools, we're literally the anomaly. Someone posted an article once how we're literally the poster child for underperforming a while back. Believe it.

Yet we're the elite team in most of our losses during whatever year you want to look up.

We're Bama in the Southern Miss game.

We're Bama in this last game.

We aren't playing like that. Those weren't talent problems.

Honestly, not sure y this is a thread. It’s been well documented that Miami have out recruited every ACC Coastal since 2004 sans maybe a yr or two at most by UNC, & have been either the 2nd or 3rd best recruiting team in the entire ACC.

We’ve been underachieving going on 2 decades. That 2003 team should’ve been playing for a NC, too!

There's plenty of data showing recruiting rankings do correlate with success and that's with regards to the player themselves and the teams that recruit. Anyone who acts like rankings are BS is just trying to find an excuse for the staff. It happens every new staff we get. The players suck, then the coach gets their classes in, averaging top 15ish ranked classes, we get excited about the players, the coach still fails, they get fired, we get a new staff, and the cycle repeats.

We have plenty of guys this board loved when Manny first recruited them, but now that Mario is here those guys suck. In a sense, they are right. Our guys are constantly not coached up, so they aren't as good as they should be, but we recruit more than good enough to be better than we have.

I agree.
I knew their roster was loaded but didn’t realize they had that many 5 stars.

Our best WR is hurt? K5 is our best WR and has been since last year, just doesn’t get as many targets. The kid is always open smh. His family should make a video of him being open and TVD looking the other way or overthrowing him (ala ODB in Cleveland). And many underthrows that make him get caught while slowing down for the ball. Gattis has to find ways to get this fast a$s **** the rock. They’re playing up close, bomb them like Garcia did. Playing back, run comeback routes & slants like we did with Rambo last year. Except K5 bigger and faster. Gattis gotta open this offense up (tired of his condensed formations) especially since we have so many RBs hurt. Our RBs get hurt cause we running them into 9 man boxes continuously smh. This ninjah Mario literally said “they kept putting 8 in the box and we could not block it” but he kept running into it over and over again and didn’t throw a pass over 15 yards VS press man on the outside! Insanity! The coaching is what killed us, from Coker’s player coaching to Shannon’s Dog house, to Golden’s Wefense, to Richt’s trash offense to *****’s first time head coach woes and now Mario’s “power spread” which uses no spread at all lol. It’s not just the players, it’s every coach that steps foot in our facilities also.
