Most Local high School Coaches want...............

Did they want Horsetoof Mcyellowteef at UiF? I guess none of them will be sending their kids there.

And another thing ...

Recruits and their coaches keep saying, "Commit to the school, not the coach" ... If that's the case, why does having established ties matter?

And how does Ohio State or Auburn get so many quality South Florida recruits? Mario doesn't recruit for them ...

Ohio State has THE GOAT recruiting for them in Urban Meyer. They win a lot and they don't have that much s.fla recruits anyway. They cherry pick down here.

Auburn has had their foot in s.fla for decades. Dillard is actually a pipeline/feeder school for them more so than us or the other big 3 fla schools. They actually have a coach that is from s.fla on their roster that is young and just hits his area hard since he is from Miami.

Mario will get his fair share of recruits. I just don't want him here other than to coach ol.

I'mf we hire Cristobal meaning he would give Miami a discount wouldn't that open up more money to pay for better assistants like let's say an
Ed Oregeron for defensive coordinator, Kevin Patrick for dline, bring back barrow, and move hurlie brown to db coach or outlier with Ed reed at db coach.
On Offense he might keep coley since they are cool, keep beard, Scott, and Tim ice Harris. Would we be ok with this? Miami wouldn't miss on anyone in south Florida

Good thing they're not making the decisions. I can live with Schiano, not the best hire, but we could do far worse. Cristobal would be far worse. Dude has proven to be a bad HC already.

The guys you mentioned, aside from Orgeron, aren't proven assistants. They're all guys we could have cheap.

You wouldn't take barrow back?

Did I say that? You said hiring Mario would free up $ to hire better assistants. While I like Barrow, and I might take him back, look at the rest of your list. That's better assistants? That's what we can do with the millions we're saving? That's going to compete with the SEC? Or Clemson?

That would be a nightmare scenario. Neither cristobal nor oregeron have ever been coordinators so having them BOTH as key decision makers on this team would be a disaster. That's a staff full of rookies.

Why would we keep our entire offensive staff? That is completely retarded. Why even make a coaching change if we are going to bring in a cuban version of what we already had, and keep our entire offensive staff. Clean the **** house and forget Miami ties. Like someone mentioned above, all these coaches see Mario as a gateway to being a college coach. They all say they will bring in recruits but how has Ice worked out? Not like anyone planned. Alabama has a well regarded NFL defensive coordinator as their DB coach, and here we are trying to bring in a high school coach as position coaches.

Put all Miami ties out of the way and Cristobal isn't even considered. Hire the BEST coach. The best coach is going to bring in the best staff and that is all that matters.

We all understand that HS coaches are important. But it is hard to believe that if the god of recruiting, Butch frigging Davis walks in to ones office and ask to see a kid said coach is going to say no. No to 29 1st round draft picks? No to the one coach that every kid in the country is waiting to get THE OFFER from? ****, even a Miami offer from Golden meant something. Make it from Butch Davis and if nothing else, the SEC or FSU bag man has to run over to Publix for a second or third bag. And if the coach is on the take(surely non of them are.) the price for admission goes up if Butch is calling. "Uh, remember that number we talked about for Johnnie? Well Butch Davis is here with an offer from THE U. Yeah, oh **** is right. No way I can get this kid to your OV for what we talked about. Kid is going think he is first round with Davis. What you got for me man? Well go get more."

Why would anyone be OK with keeping Coley? Or several other leftovers from Golden's tenure? Or hiring Cristobal in the first place regardless of which assistants he'd hire? Cristobal would be the final nail in this program's coffin because he's a terrible, unqualified position coach. How have you not learned what we need after watching the Golden era unfold?

We need a head coach, not a head recruiter. Open your f***ing eyes.

That post from Brock reminded me, even though it has probably been mentioned in this thread already.

Reason No. 5385894586 why Cristobal is an indefensible, program-burying hire: He'd retain James Coley. We'd continue to look like an FCS team against well-coached opposition like Clemson or the vast majority of teams we lost to when we went 6-7 in 2014.

What the ****? Really? I just don't understand how people can seriously campaign for that guy to get this job. HE WAS FIRED FROM FIU! FIRED FROM FIU!

FIRED FROM MOTHER****ING FIU!

Hiring the guy who all Bama fans would love to leave and was FIRED BY FIU?! Is this real life?!
