Morning Thoughts

We’re officially the nation’s annual comedy special — “The U: Where Five-Stars Go to Get Outcoached.” Every year, we reload with NFL talent, shiny facilities, and booster money flowing like it’s SEC oil… only to lose to teams whose entire athletic budget could fit inside our offensive coordinator’s buyout clause.
Jesus.

What a clown take.

We're at our lowest NFL output in 40 years right now. Facilities? LOL. Louisville's athletic budget dwarfs ours.

It might help to actually know what you're talking about.

The fact we had a better show out for Bethune cookman over Louisville is unacceptable.

You guys keep bringing up how no team goes undefeated and all that. You’re missing the point here and why ppl are upset.

We are tired of the same script every week and season. Hot start, mid season fall off. Penalties and undisciplined football. Offensive lulls and unprepared starts. Dumbfounded looks on the sideline. Wasted timeouts or not using timeouts before the half. Lack of adjustments. Non-existing special teams. Poor team speed. And I’m sure I’m forgetting so much more

Good post. How can anyone have expectations of being undefeated after the last 20+ years is hilarious to me.

I’ve never understood the meltdown mindset. It’s a game that we all supposedly love to watch. Just watch and enjoy.

Here’s the problem.. we have Mario as our coach.

He instill no confidence or history shown that he can make this just a time blunder.

Dude is still brining out the same team after a bye week.

He’s still doing the same bs on game day.

This team is becoming more undisciplined.. the O line that he helps coach forgot how to block. This defense completely forgot how to tackle after a bye week..

He ****ted away a season where we had the #1 pick and offense.. and returned back to his run up the middle bro ball offense.

So yes, fan should adjust their expectation like Josh said.. but we have Mario and I can’t forget the BS I saw last night that he’s been doing his whole career

Here's the issue: we knew Brohm was going to throw the kitchen sink at us. Dawson AND Heatherman were outschemed. Our Defensive Front was out-coached in the first half and didn't adjust to how they were working Bain and Mesidor out of the game so Moss could have the time he needed to get to Bell. Their run game worked like a charm long enough to spot them 14 points.

Worst of all, we were still making Pre-snap penalties and PF's that were killing drives. That was as bad as the pressures on Beck which led to his 4 picks.

The Other Guy gets a vote. Louisville had a great game plan which resulted from Brohm's film study. Good on Louisville for their game planning and film study. It's on our highly paid staff to go back to the ****ing Drawing Board, look at the film, break down what Louisville did to us (ESPECIALLY how they stuffed our run game with a smaller defensive front), and come up with a solution in Time for our trip to Dallas.

If you think Rhett Lashlee is going to go easy on us for Old Time's Sake you didn't see the last scene in the first Godfather film where Tessio is asking the other guys to let bygones be bygones and not whack him. Fat Clemenza tells him he's sorry, but Michael Corleone, the new Don, has ordered him to be whacked: "It's nothing personal, it's Business." Lashlee's Ponies aren't what they were last year, but they will smell blood now that we're not on top of the world and they will sense that they can beat us. So will that team up at Pitt.

Defeat is never good, but if we run the table now and win like I know this team can, then we will have learned something from this fiasco of a game.

Oh wow, a member since 2025 acting like they’ve been following the U for decades? That’s rich. Bless your little heart for thinking you know what you’re talking about—now go back to your play station!

Biggest concern is Beck turning into TVD and ruining the season. Say what you want about the boring run game but there were guys wide open all night, and Beck kept forcing it. Even if he was somewhat competent we win

Dawson needs to real him in again
Agreed… this is the biggest concern right now, in terms of potentially an unfixable problem.

Beck was bad against UF, looked good for three quarters against a suspect FSU defense, and was a disaster last night.

His body language looks terrible as well.

Getting Beck back on track is the highest priority right now.

The quote function seemed to own you on this one.

First time?

Just call him Brohm's beotch from now on. We were in the Cayman Islands for two weeks while Louisville was drawing ish up.
We beat him last year. Our entire defense forgot how to tackle. We dropped INTs. Heatherman adjusted and despite 4TOs, they scored 24. We lost this game as much as they won it and Louisville played their asses off.

I’m with you, no reason to let this ruin the season

But it’s the way we lost that is the concern. Our inability to develop a run game is something this will lose us another game or two if we don’t fix it
Facts, it’s clear as day wat the problem is how to fix it. If Mario & Co think that the solution is just to execute better, we r gonna have some serious problems.

After sleeping on it, it’s very ****** how last night went. I do feel very confident Louisville is probably the 2nd best team we play all year, behind ND. If you had told me we held them to 24 and Beck threw four picks, I’d probably still have thought we snuck out with a win.

That’s the silver lining. This is probably the worst Beck can look. If we can lose by 3 to what’s probably a T20 team with him playing that poorly, we can fix things.

The issue is, I lack the confidence that Mario can push the right buttons and pull the right levers to fix things in season.
