This is what I think we saw- Brohm totally shocked the defense from the first snap. Listening to the kids last night after the game- Poyser in particular- they said they ran formations etc that were not on tape. I think Heatherman adjusted as fast as he could. But the offense started -after LVille’s first series scored- feeling pressure right away.

I dont think they were flat at all; I think the were shocked and a little panicked.
Had nothing to do with a bye week.

I really hate the system the ACC uses. It’s simply not an equal playing field across the board given the disparity in schedules.

Brohm wins with less and is a master game planner/playcaller. Mario wins the off season and can't think when the game clplay caller. It is what it is.
 
The penalties have got to get fixed. Every game they have a couple of “unsportsmanlike” conduct penalties. Every game there a couple of penalties on the OL.

To me, there is no excuse for either of those things. When you know upfront you will NEVER get the benefit of the doubt on anything in the eyes of the officials, you HAVE to have self control.

The OL penalties have killed the offense in key spots multiple times. We NEVER had this problem in past seasons. False defensive shifting or calls are clearly a tactic every team tucks away because they know it works. Bench the guy who moves for a series or two. Maybe that will help

This this this. Not a single new wrinkle or scheme (Aside from 1 Toney pass trick play). What happened to the run game variation from FSU? Meanwhile Brohm is out there with 3 QB's confusing the F outta the D and a perfect gameplan to nullify our pass rush.

Dawson is who he is. An average to good OC at best who relies on above average talent. Cant scheme **** up. Difference between him and brohm is light years as playcallers/schemers.

Ultimately is on Mario who being happy to have a gameplan that is same ol same ol. So dissapointing. At least try something new...

Pate also preached that the only team that could be Miami would be Miami. As badly as brohm out schemed heatherman to go up 14-0 it was pretty dang quiet after that. We beat ourselves. 4 picks, coming out flat. D+ effort, D + game. My only hope is that these are different players who will lead where Mario and the coaches have clearly failed

The penalties are not going to get fixed. This is how his teams play and he has no idea how to instill the discipline to actually fix it. The problem is compounded by the documented officiating bias against Miami in general that predates Mario’s tenure here.

Dawson is holding them back, it’s obvious. He throws no wrinkles whatsoever. It’s almost like he has a set of plays and that’s it. He’s nowhere near as creative as last year. Either he’s regressed as a play caller, or head man is holding him back.

Biggest concern is Beck turning into TVD and ruining the season. Say what you want about the boring run game but there were guys wide open all night, and Beck kept forcing it. Even if he was somewhat competent we win

Glad to not have to hear about the rat poison any longer. For real though, we are weak as fk after a bye week. Why the **** do we turn soft as baby **** right after them. ACC is criminal for putting two right in the middle of our season. We don't want no bye. Our bye is the other 40 weeks in the year. Lets get after all 12 with no breaks--fk it.
