More on Ole Miss coaching situation

It was always odd letting them stay… the band aid should have been ripped against Tulane. That was a good tune up get everyone up to speed game before Jawja now that might lose those staff members during preparation for this game while their HC/DC needs to worry less about stopping us but solidifying whose in the meeting rooms showing up to work

This doesn’t even include them working the portal which probably is 3rd in their priority lol

Agreed. Golding should have had his own red line. Join us long term or move on..he could have used the Tulane game as a tune up for whatever OC/interim play caller he chose to go with.

He probably didn't have the foresight to see what's happening now in the midst of the chaos.

Now he could end up with a first time play caller against us in the semis.

Man report to work or else! No other job in the world allow you to stay with the old job when they’re waiting for you to get to work.

If I was LSU, get your a s s to work, not now, but right NOW!
They are working for LSU and stealing players while winning games for Ole Miss. lol

Ole Miss in the ultimate rock and a hard place because they have no chance without those guys coaching and won’t be seeing a final 4 again for a very long time, if I had to guess.

Do you let them keep planting seeds to your roster and half the team follow them to a rival after the season just for a chance to win the whole thing or do you pull the plug?

With Golding going forward they’re ****ed anyway. Just try and hoist

Isn't just the fact that Golding is using LSU's coaching saying enough for LSU that they don't even need to tamper.
"Their coaches are so good that we need them for our own playoffs and don't want to let them go to the program they work for. But don't go to LSU to play for them. We promise we'll get better coaches."

Whole thing is messy.

But do these coaches sign contracts with non-compete clauses? I have to imagine they do and, if so, it opens up both the coaches individually and Ole Miss to liability for breaching it. Ole Miss could be engaging in tortious interference of a contract. I think an emergency injunction ought to be sought by LSU to prevent all coaches from participating in our game.

Don't think Golding is the one who has the power to make a decision here. This has been and will continue to be decided by the Ole Miss AD (really the Ole Miss boosters. The AD is their mouthpiece).

It's an unprecedented and completely nuts situation.

There's these giant payouts for each win in the playoff that accrue to the progrum/athletic department and the potential of a natty that weigh in favor of keeping the insane status quo. They are trying to keep as many guys from the portal (& LSU) as possible. Had they rug-pulled the players and said no to the coaches from the jump I think many would have been in the portal today and Kiffin/LSU would have benefited the most. If they rug-pull their players now, the same thing is going to happen, and the PR machine from Kiffin/LSU is going to brutal for Ole Miss. The longer they let the LSU coaches coach their players while the portal is open, better the chance more of those players end up at LSU, IMO.

I don't really see this being a big deal as long as Weis stays. It makes sense for all the position coaches to be gone at this point. Ole Miss already has their new guys hired and Golding has like other coaches he's friends with around helping out.

Definitely a weird situation to be in, but as long as Weis is there, I wouldn't expect anything difference
