More on Ole Miss coaching situation

I hear you I just want no excuses from anyone we are the best team in the country.

I stopped giving a **** about what other people think a long time ago. To me, it’s the key to a happy life. I especially don’t give a flying **** about what the media or other fans think. It’s fun to mock them about their stupidity and discuss it, but at the end of the day I just don’t give a ****.

Good way to live lol.

Agree. I think Bryce should be given Ed Reed type freedom on the back end to roam when Trinidad leaves the pocket. Let instincts take over.

No, he needs to maintain his assignment. If you can stop the run game then I think forcing them to dink and dunk down the field may be the best option. They absolutely live off explosive plays. Letting guys run around back there making their own decisions is going to get us gashed. The receivers are too fast to keep up with. You can even live with completions, you can't live with a completion and the guy breaking free.

One thing to note here is Cox is the co-offensive coordinator (with Weiss who was in Baton Rouge all week) and McDonald is the passing game coordinator. Thats a lot of key guys not helping at all or not all in on game prep.

It is also fair to note that Ole Miss, like many SEC programs, has a bunch of coaches, analysts and graduate assistants who know both sides of the ball. Joe Judge is an assistant who was an NFL HC. So this is no ragtag bunch. They can hold up for a game or two.

I just registered on this site to add some context to what is happening with Charlie Weis. I didn't come here to bash and I promise I will leave after this game. I always like to look at opposing team message boards but have never registered until now. I will say that this board seems to be way more mature and intelligent than any I've visited. Congratulations on that.

I live about 20 miles from the Oxford campus and have two friends that work in the athletic department so I'm 99% sure of what I'm about to write. When Lane Kiffin first approached Charlie Weis about going with him to LSU, Charlie told him he would go but only under the condition that he could finish the season with Ole Miss. Otherwise, he would not take the job and stay at Ole Miss. Honorable if you ask me. Evidently Kiffin agreed and here we are. The classy road here was taken by Weis and this is not some generous gesture by Kiffin or LSU. They had no choice if the wanted Weis.

Another couple of things and I'll quit. The players had become irritated at Kiffin for playing this situation out in the media while they were finishing their regular season so Kiffin's statement about the players wanting him to coach in the CFP is not true. Also, I'm told that the Sunday morning where Kiffin flew out that afternoon, the player committee (of 12) wanted to meet with Kiffin and he wouldn't meet with them and that Pete Golding called Kiffin and told him he was acting like a 3-year old kid.

I hope Miami gets through this game healthy but of course I hope Ole Miss wins. I know it's an extreme uphill climb as I have no doubt the Hurricanes are by far the best team that Ole Miss has played all year. If we don't get through this one, I will be a Hurricane fan for the final.
Thanks for the compliment and yes we’re the smartest but we also have the biggest penises per capita than any other message board. By a large margin. On top that we have guys like @JHallCanes and myself that are super alpha . Who take double the daily allowance of creatine and protein. Your testosterone can be no lower than 950 to survive here.

Welcome to the board and good luck.

Probably a total coincidence you posted this at the exact same moment I posted the Bench Press thread

I genuinely think their coaching situation will have zero impact.

They have more coaches than we do currently with all their guys for next yr already there and their guys doing double duty from LSU. It’s all about Weis to me. And it’s not like they put 100% of all time available on film and game planning. And a private jet to lsu and back isn’t taking all day…

I think it could have impact but it will be negligible. They're not running an entire new offense for this game. It'll be the same Old Miss as last week.

The coaching thing won't impact tactics or Xs and Os. The only impact it could have is around mental focus, especially the players.

Jakobbee: I only came on here to provide some insight as to why Charlie Weis stayed on the staff. There was much discussion on here about the LSU coaches helping Ole Miss and why. I gave my opinion and why based on some very good inside information. There was no LSU allowing Charlie to stay. He made it clear in the beginning he was going to stay or he would not be coming to LSU.

Good luck to you guys tomorrow but not much. Ha. I have stated that if we don't win, I will be a Hurricane for the final.
