Yep. That's literally the mark of a good coach. People somehow forget this. Good coaches adapt to their talent, they do not make their talent adapt to their scheme.
Of course Mullen was very successful with kids like Dak and Tebow where he could run what his true colors scheme really is. But then when he got Trask, a kid who can't move nearly as well, he tailored his offense to him. It's what good coaches do. Much like we just saw with Lashlee. You guys see a ton of zone read and QB power with TVD? No, it was much more drop back passing than we saw with King. Good coaches take what their kids do well and mold their scheme around those talents.
