Moorhead to Akron

I think it's more we need an OC who can keep maximizing TVD's talent to throw the ball..... I mean when Lashlee was playing King we looked like crap... Not trying to throw shade at Lashlee but it was very evident the O was worlds different with TVD under center....
That's all I was getting at. Pass-first, stretch the field both vertically and horizontally and establish a ground game effective enough to keep defense's honest and pick up 3rd/4th and short without ****ting our pants. If our OL can open up some lanes we have the horses to get into the 2nd level and pop open some chunk gains.

This is good news for us. Joe Moorhead expected to get the Akron job. So if Mario is hired, he’s going to have to find a new OC. IMO Moorhead here would have been a bad combo. Now Mario can go get someone more aligned to the skill we have here, aka a Lashlee-type OC.

Bloody **** that's disruptive before their Pac-12 Championship game.

How inconsiderate of Akron.

I hear ya dude... Me personally am not sold on the O-line... To me TVD's ability made them look a whole lot better than they were.... Our run game was still sub-par as you hinted with 3rd/4th short yardage stuff...

Yes, but he had shown his ability to adapt when he had Trask playing.

Yep. That's literally the mark of a good coach. People somehow forget this. Good coaches adapt to their talent, they do not make their talent adapt to their scheme.

Of course Mullen was very successful with kids like Dak and Tebow where he could run what his true colors scheme really is. But then when he got Trask, a kid who can't move nearly as well, he tailored his offense to him. It's what good coaches do. Much like we just saw with Lashlee. You guys see a ton of zone read and QB power with TVD? No, it was much more drop back passing than we saw with King. Good coaches take what their kids do well and mold their scheme around those talents.

IF? Are people still questioning Mario’s homecoming 😂 Let’s ******* GO!!!!! Let’s get this Pac-12 championship game behind us, so we can focus on recruiting.

What about Miami suggests they have a Mario hiring wrapped up in a clean nice package just ready to be opened on Saturday or Sunday? If the outward narrative is to hire an AD to evaluate and then fire Diaz, how many days is the AD going to "evaluate" Diaz? I imagine Diaz will get a token meeting.

Seems like the timeline is pretty tight to get all this done by the weekend. And if it stretches into next week where Mario has to recruit for his actual job then things get ugly for a guy who seems concerned about the appearance of things.

I am not going to get in this argument again for the millionth time, but the fact Trask sat on the sidelines with all those wr's is not the sign of a great coach. There wasn't a doubt the minute Trask actually got time he was the better qb. They took out the qb run plays is all they did.

So why didnt Akron and Morehead wait until after the Pac12 championship game to announce this?
